"Have we met?"

Answer: a right hook! Because Bryony Morgan pulls no punches. Even when she's very pregnant and facing down the father of her unborn child. She fell for wealthy hotelier Rafael de Luca when he courted her for her beachfront real estate. Then he disappeared. Now, she's in New York for answers--and she won't accept a brush-off.

But selective amnesia after a crash has Rafael puzzled. How could he ever forget a combustible beauty like Bryony? Solution: return to the island where they met, and relive the unforgettable nights in question--until he remembers everything...

My-Thoughts

Read for Review (NetGalley)
Overall Rating 3.5
Story Rating 3.5
Character Rating 3.5

Note: This was the first book in a new series by Maya Banks and I think we are in store for 4 unique stories. I can’t say that I have read to many pregnant women romances so I was unsure of what to expect.

What I Loved: Maya Banks has a way of making you understand the motives and emotions of her characters even when you don’t like them for it. She did a perfect job with Rafael, even though there was a point I wanted to kick him a shins. You know a character gets to you when you want to interact with them! I really loved Bryony and my heart ached for everything to work out well between them.

What I Liked: This was an interesting twist on an amnesia story (won’t give anything away) and it played out well. I really liked Rafe’s friends and can’t wait to read their stories.

Complaints: I felt the story lagged a little in the middle but that section worked well with the end. I think it had more to do with my not quite trusting Rafe.

Why I gave it a 3.5: Maya Banks weaved a very unique love story that pulled at my heartstrings and a leading lady that I cared about deeply!

Hmmm pregnant woman romance? Doesn't sound like something that I would normally pick up, but the story does sound intriguing…

LOL! Yeah, I haven't read any preggy woman romances, and I'm not sure if I'd find any appeal in them, but the amnesia part of story sounds interesting.

Hm… I do want to try one of these, but maybe not this one yet. I don't think I'd like Rafe if you didn't for quite a lot of the book.

I read something by Maya Banks a couple years back that I didn't much care for… I don't know that I'd like this one any better!

Great review!! I have only read one of her books, and it was ok…but I will have to try this series out, sounds like something I may like.
