It isn't easy being the rather overlooked and unhappy youngest sibling to sisters named for the other six days of the week. Sunday’s only comfort is writing stories, although what she writes has a terrible tendency to come true.

When Sunday meets an enchanted frog who asks about her stories, the two become friends. Soon that friendship deepens into something magical. One night Sunday kisses her frog goodbye and leaves, not realizing that her love has transformed him back into Rumbold, the crown prince of Arilland—and a man Sunday’s family despises.

The prince returns to his castle, intent on making Sunday fall in love with him as the man he is, not the frog he was. But Sunday is not so easy to woo. How can she feel such a strange, strong attraction for this prince she barely knows? And what twisted secrets lie hidden in his past—and hers?

JUST A NOTE: Read It File It is for books that I have read that I need to keep track of. The reviews will be super short (think tweet longer length) but will serve the purpose of getting the books into UBB for tracking purposes 🙂

Read It File It: While this is not my normal cup of tea, I do think I picked a perfect book to hand out for World Book Night 2014. Enchanted by Alethea Kontis should appeal to all fairy tale lovers and will make people smile! The story is really well paced and magical in an off the beaten path kind of way.

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated by: Katherine Kellgren /Length: 7 hrs and 51 mins

Katherine is one of my favorite narrators. Her voice is perfect for stories like these–it has a hint of magic and fun. Her narration enhanced the story and brought it to life.

  1. Princess Alethea

I am so glad you loved the audiobook! I am such a fan of Katherine Kellgren…I think I’ve listened to her perform ENCHANTED at least 10 times. She’s so amazingly talented. It’s like watching a Broadway show with your eyes closed!

    • Oh I love her! I first heard her doing Rhys Bowen’s Historical Cozy Mystery series. She just has a delightful voice that captures characters so well!

    • She is awesome and yep sometimes it takes a bit. I normally give a narrator an hour to win me over because sometimes it is the characters personality that makes them seem off.

  2. WORD. I just moved this up my list, b/c I’ve had it forever, and the author is going to be at Dragon Con. With this additional motivation, I might actually read it between now and then 😉

    • I am jealous. I hope to meet her one day! I really enjoyed the story and love that it was part of World Book Night (sad that is no longer a thing)
