Dewey 24 Hour ReadaThon

Howdy y’all! I am going to highlight the people reading for charity and the charities that they are reading for! Please bookmark these sites and visit them during the readathon. Every comment counts 🙂

Reach Out and Read is an evidence-based nonprofit organization of medical providers who promote early literacy and school readiness in pediatric exam rooms nationwide by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud.

I am reading for Richardson Adult Literacy Center

The Richardson Adult Literacy Center is an accredited Pro Literacy America affiliate, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. We train volunteer tutors, recruit adult students and place students into classroom or one-to-one instruction. English as a second language (ESL) instruction is provided to adults in our community via classroom and one-to-one instruction. The Center also refers students to other programs and services that may better assist them.

Every tweet, google +, or FB Share of this post highlighting everyone’s charities is worth 5 cents between now and Sunday morning at 7am CST! Go forth and share!

  1. Very inspired by the charity fund raising that some of you are taking part in so I will make a donation to BookAid International this weekend. Don’t expect many comments so I will figure out a hourly rate/page rate 🙂

  2. you are so awesome for doing this Flea! Thanks for highlighting our chosen charities! Debbie my partner in crime, isn’t reading for charity this time just because she didn’t start to think of it until too late to choose her charity but she’s thinking about it for October! You have started a trend! And with the promoting you are doing for us, maybe come October it will become a movement!
