Hi Yโ€™all! It is November and I am bringing back #30DaysOfThanks for Year 3 aka #30DaysOfThanks2014. I had so much fun doing this last 2 years that I thought I would recycle the program again this year.

Book: Defiant by Pamela Clare

Defiant by Pamela Clare

(I *heart* this series and was sad that it was only 3 books – Review Here)

Goodreads | Library thing

Story: Major Connor MacKinnon despises his commander, Lord William Wentworth, beyond all other men. Ordered to rescue Wentworth’s niece after the Shawnee take her captive, he expects Lady Sarah Woodville to be every bit as arrogant and contemptible as her uncle. Instead, he finds a brave and beautiful lass in desperate peril. But the only way to free Sarah is for Connor to defeat the Shawnee warrior who kidnapped herโ€”and claim her himself.

Torn by tragedy from her sheltered life in London, Lady Sarah is unprepared for the harshness of the frontierโ€”or for the attraction she feels toward Connor as he guides her first through the consummation of their forced union and then through the dangers of the wilderness. When they reach civilization, however, it is she who must protect him. For if her uncle knew all that Connor had done to save her, he would surely kill him.

But the flames of passion, once kindled, are difficult to deny. As desire transforms into love, Connor will have to defy an empire to keep Sarah at his side.

  1. I’ve always wanted to read Pamela Clare, but for some reason I haven’t done it. After your review and your comments about this book I think I have to start with first book in the MacKinnonโ€™s Rangers series. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • I really want to read her iTeam series! I do love her historicals though. I think I am one of the few that found her through those instead of vice versa!

  2. Amanda is amazing, and she finds some awesome Top Off Tuesday candy. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I haven’t read Pamela Clare’s series yet, but I must! I’ve been wanting to dive back into historical romances.

    • She is the best at TOT covers. I bow to her greatness in that arena. There is no one else close LOL ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh it is early American Historical Romance–with Kilts! Trust me it so works ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. It’s really sad how long it took me to realize that On A Book Bender’s Amanda and The Writing Sidekick’s Amanda were the same person. Let’s just say I didn’t make the connection until the last Bloggiesta. Yeah. But I really liked both people the whole time LOL!

    • LOL not hard at all to imagine. Though both show her beautifully quirky personality–I think OABB shows her silly side/TWS shows her awesome business skills. For an editor she has some kick ass business know-how! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Great choices again! Pamela Palmer, Xe Sands…All and class of their own ๐Ÿ™‚ I have to check out One Book Bender, I’m sure they’re as great as you say.

    • She is awesome! She also does The Writing Sidekick and published a really great Romantic Suspense with a bit of Paranormal this year. All around awesome person ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Dreg City series on audio is great! It’s the only books I’ve listen Xe do and that’s only because I “see” her as Evy and don’t want to hear her as someone else. LOL I will check out her other works in the future.

  6. I wanted to do the 30 days so bad – love the idea! I am on vacation now and then on Tuesday I go to work in Florida for about 16 days – LONG days… so I am already behind ๐Ÿ™‚ If I can get it together I still might do it ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • I have been following your Florida adventures and so jelly (even when you got arrested LOL) ๐Ÿ™‚

November is always such a busy month! I think the end of the year always feels so rushed ๐Ÿ™‚
