#30DaysOfThanks2014 Day 19: That’s What I’m Talking About, BookaholicCat & Jim Frangione

Posted November 19, 2014 by Felicia S in Month of Thanks / 25 Comments

Hi Y’all! It is November and I am bringing back #30DaysOfThanks for Year 3 aka #30DaysOfThanks2014. I had so much fun doing this last 2 years that I thought I would recycle the program again this year.

Blogger: That’s What I’m Talking About

What can I say about Jen: I adore her! She is one of those bloggers that I have met in person, had great conversations with, and miss when I don’t get to see her often. She makes me smile! She is such an inspiration too! If you haven’t followed her #BookBlogWalkers journey (you should) then you are missing out on a fantastic story. She has done so great and done it with such gusto that I am in awe. She will be co-hosting with me next year and I am excited about that. She also does wonderful things on her blog: Sunday Snippet, Author Interviews, and Reviews. Go give her some love–

Blogger: BookaholicCat

What can I say about Marcela: She is hands down one of the funniest people I have ever blog stalked. Granted, she is a cat lady and I am a dog lady but we both agree that furrballs are the most amazing creatures on the planet. She writes AMAZING reviews (talking about ones that make you want to hit the buy button even when you are on a book budget) and they are very eclectic in nature. She is just delightful! Go give her some love–

Narrator: Jim Frangione

Books I have listened to narrated by him:

  • Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward
  • Love Undercover Series by Lori Foster
  • Born in Blood by Alexandra

Books on my wishlist:

  • No Limits by Lori Foster
  • Devil’s in Exile by Chuck Hogan

This year Fantasy is More Fun & Because Reading are doing a Month of Giving Thanks giving you a chance to participate. You should take them up on the opportunity!

NOTE: This year I switched it up a bit for the first 12 days: I will highlight one book from 2014 that really stuck with me (each book scored a 4.75 or 5 from me), one narrator that landed on my must listen list, and one blogger that I am thankful for! For days 13 to 30 I will highlight either 2 bloggers and 1 narrator OR 2 narrators and 1 blogger. These are not in any particular order and by no means is 30 going to cover everyone that I love. In fact this year in both the narrator and blogger categories I had way over 30 (Yet with books I only had 12 “new to me this year” reads that ranked above a 4.75).Β  Narrowing narrators/bloggers down broke my heart so I am changing the format a bit! Hopefully, I can squeeze in everyone I want too!

  1. OMG! Thank you so much! *BIG SQUISHY HUGS* I <3 so much and hope we can hang out soon. Thank you for all of your support and inspiration.

Marcela is awesome. I also blog stalk her!

I don't know if I could do BDB in audio. The gansta' speak and old world sayings would drive me batty!

    • Let me warn you about BDB on audio–I love them and will only listen to them but everything that annoys you about the gangsta speak will be pronounced. However, sometimes Jim makes me laugh as he saying it because it just sounds absurd and he doesn’t try to mask that πŸ™‚

  2. I love Jim Frangione! I have been collecting the BDB books with extra credits if I have rollovers and I think I chuckle a lot sometimes but by now, I’d be sad if anyone else narrated those books! (I’ve not listened to the other books you mention, but I haven some Lori Foster on my library list.)

    • Oh he makes me bust out laughing–especially when they are in their dead serious gangsta speak moments. I love that Jim doesn’t try to hide how absurd it is that grown-ass men are speaking like they are 19 πŸ™‚

  3. Thank you for the love Felicia, that was very kind of you. You made my day! I hope to meet you someday… hopefully a day not too faraway.

I love Jen, I met her couple of years back and she’s Awesome (with capital A). I hope to see her again someday.

I haven’t listened to anything narrated by Jim Frangione, but I have heard great things about him.

    • Oh you should totally check Jim out. He has a rich bass type voice which just works!

I have met Jen and she was awesome! I was also at all the AAD’s that everyone was at but I am very “in the corner” social at Book Conventions.

      • Thanks Marcela! I really do hope we meet up again some day – soon! You have shown me such kindness and friendship, and I truly appreciate it deep down in my heart. *hugs*

  4. I love that you’re introducing me to so many new bloggers (well, new-to-me)! I’m always on the lookout for new bloggy friends who are hilarious and will keep me entertained and in good books. πŸ™‚

  5. Two of my favorites today! I love The Bookhaholic Cat, I got a chance to meet her at AAD a few years back, and she’s just as much fun in person. I love her blog too, when I first started my blog I used to put a link to a review I found on the Internet that I though it was awesome, and her reviews kept popping up..LOL That’s how I meet her, I left a comment asking if I could link up to her review. This was before I new the bloggphere and was a lone wolf.

Now what can I say about Jim Franggione!!…LOL I love him and he’s style! No apologies..lol I look forward to the time a year when I’m going to spend a day or two with the Brothers πŸ˜‰

I heard a lot good things about That’s what I’m talking About! I’ll me make sure to follow a little closer.
