Locked in an unexpected land dispute, Rafe Stryker is trapped in the one place he vowed never to return to – the Castle Ranch in Fool’s Gold, California. He made millions facing ruthless adversaries in the boardroom, but nothing could’ve prepared him to go head-to-head against stubborn, beautiful Heidi Simpson. No one is more surprised than Rafe to discover that he’s finding Heidi – and life as a cowboy – much more compelling than he wants to admit.

For Heidi, the Castle Ranch is the home she’s always wanted. After a life on the road, the vivacious blonde has finally put down roots. She won’t give that up without a fight, not even for a man whose late-night kisses make her yearn to be a little less…wholesome.

As the two turn from passionate adversaries to passionate, period, they’ll discover that summer love can last a lifetime.

Character Rating: 4.50

First thought when finished: I think I am going to love the next 3 books with more of the Stryker family 🙂

What I Loved: Rafe was a complicated leading man who had a lot on his shoulders from a young age. He fought and clawed his way out of the small town and into a place of prestige (in his eyes). I love that Susan wrote him with both good and bad traits. He was stubborn by a mile and pig-headed to a fault. His interactions with Heidi brought out the best and the worst in him. I loved that Heidi was so very bound and determined to fight for her home. She didn’t back down and she did acknowledge that it was her grandfather who had done wrong. She was trying her best to make everything right. I think that made her strong and resilient!

What I Liked: I really like the town of Fool’s Gold. It is a great setting for so many of these stories to take place. It is large enough to have a city feel but small enough that you get a real sense of community. The friendships and love that form here all seem very organic and sweet.

Final Thought: I am excited for Heidi’s friends to get their HEAs so bring on their books already 🙂

Romances are a reading escape that touches are heart and remind us what’s most important to each of us. Summer Nights without a doubt delivers! Summer Nights is the perfect beach read. It’s funny, romantic, sexy, and its light both in tone and in actual weight – you can toss the paperback into your beach bag and go or your ebook too. The Stryker men represent everything we love about a cowboy hero. They are protective, honest, tall and strong. Enjoy!

I love Susan Mallery & Fool’s Gold!! Rafe & Heidi has a great chemistry together even though they are both stubborn. I feel so bad for Heidi, who finally has a home of her own. Rafe swore he would never go back to Fool’s Gold, but he did it for his mother. I love May. She was something else! If you are looking for a good romance book, then this is it! You won’t be disappointed!

Since June, I have also read Summer Nights. It has became my favorite of all of the Fool’s Gold books. Summer Nights is another great summer read. Annabelle is caring, a great friend, & so sweet! I love that Annabelle wanted to learn how to ride a horse for her fundraiser for her bookmobile. There is 1 thing that I absolutely love a lot & it has to do with Shane, but I am not going to give it away. In Summer Nights, we find out more about Heidi & Rafe’s story!! I am reading All Summer Long right now & I am loving it!!

Fool’s Gold? I love that name! It sorta sounds like my town. Big Little town, but then where the heck is my HEA??? I need to talk to the town council. *crosses arms and glares at town council* I guess I better move to Fool’s Gold… *sigh*

This sounds like a really cute book, and I love when the characters are flawed but realistically so, that way they feel like people instead of caricatures:) I love too when we meet a group of characters in one book and I know the rest of the series is going to bring me their stories. Win.
