#FitReaders: Commit to Exercise for February 2016

Welcome to #FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About.

It is time to commit to exercise for the month of February 2016  ! Whether you are just joining us, need to get back on the wagon, or just going to keep up your progress from last year– now is the time to stand up and say “I’m in! I’m committed to getting up and getting moving!”

Also new feature this year: Virtual 5K/10K races

What is a Virtual 5k?  This Virtual 5k is organized online and FitReaders from all over the world can compete. Where it is different from a traditional 5K is that you are responsible for completing the walk/run at any place you desire, at any time during the race timeframe that works for you. For this series, each race will need to be completed between the first and last day of the month. You will need to take a picture at the end of the race (not of your face if you don’t want but your time, song list, ect) and post it either on FB, Twitter, or your check-in. Then add your name to the finish line page for Feb so that I can keep track for end of the year medals. Grab your virtual ribbon so that you can display it proudly on your check-ins. If at the end of the year you have completed 10 of the 12 races–you will get a medal

  1. I love how much motivation and support you all give!! This is my second month and I’m loving it so far. Moved my goal up 1000 steps this months.

  2. February is going to be 12k steps per day, 2 gym visits per week and cleaning up some of my eating habits. I took my measurements compared to last year and I was not happily surprised.

    I have a race on 2/20 and I hp[e to have a better time that the one I ran this month.

  3. I’m in…and this month besides continuing to watch what I eat, I really need to balance my steps with some strength training…I so suck at doing both! And I really want to get in at least 1 10K this month!!!

  4. You know I’m here! Let’s make this a great month together! I’m traveling a lot in February so watching what I eat will be my biggest challenge this month.

  5. So I am signing up for February as I need to get moving. I just joined Weight Watchers and got a cheap fitbit but got one, I figured I can reward myself with a nicer one when I lose a certain amount of weight. 🙂 So I am all ready to go! 🙂

  6. I’ll be joining in for February-just found out we’re going to be away for a week in April, and swimming will be involved, time to polish the abs lol. I’ll be doing the 100 push-up challenge (my second time), along with rebounder work 🙂 Starting things back up tomorrow!
