f you’ve read Cathy & DD’s earlier books you might run into someone from one of them, but each book can easily be read on its own. One of my favorite things about these authors is they do their research and know the history of Scotland. This story is one of my favorites and I highly recommend it!

I liked catching up with my favorite characters and it was nice to dip my toe back into the world. It was a little slow at times but glad I borrowed it!

So the first book I picked up at the library this year was A Soupcon of Poison by Jennifer Ashley. I picked this up because I love (and I mean LOVE) her shifters and historicals. It seemed like a good way to try something different from her and I was glad that I did!

This book can be read on its own. Virginia Heath’s books get better and better. She is an automatic buy for me. If you haven’t read her books, I highly recommend them.
