Audiobook Review: The Night Season (Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell #4) by Chelsea Cain

Audiobook Review: The Night Season (Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell #4) by Chelsea Cain

First Thought when Finished: I missed Gretchen but I think this book proved Chelsea Cain can write a pretty good Archie book without her!

Story Thoughts: Archie is a good detective! He sucks at pretty much everything else but as a detective he knows his stuff. Continue Reading

Audiobook Review: Evil at Heart (Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell #3) by Chelsea Cain

First Thought when Finished:Evil at Heart got really good the last 1/2! I couldn’t put it down (or turn it off).

Story Thoughts: Chelsea Cain is brilliant at writing totally off-their-rocker characters. Her serial killer Gretchen is one of my favorites.Continue Reading

Audiobook Review: Dark Frost (Mythos Academy #3) by Jennifer Estep #SeriouslySeries

First Thought when Finished: The original part of Dark Frost was ROCKSTAR but the “rehashing” of previous stories was over done (I don’t know why but in this one it really stood out).

Story Thoughts: Here is the deal: I loved the original part of the story. I thought it was the strongest to date and everything worked out perfectly. Gwen had to step up her game and really come into her own as Champion. She also had friend issues, boy issues, and school issues to work through and with that much on her plate I was surprised she held it together as well as she did. There was action and a pretty good little mystery to figure out. I wasn’t stunned by the culprit but still think it was very well played. My problem is that 40% of the book was repeating stuff from previous books or in two cases things that happened at the beginning of this book. That was a bit overkill and took away from the enjoyment of the story.Continue Reading

Review: Midnight Secrets (Wildfire #1) by Ella Grace

First Thought: Midnight Secrets did a great job of drawing me into this world and making me want to revisit the people in it soon!

Story Thoughts: I am going to admit up front that I am a fan of the way Christy Reece aka Ella Grace writes a story. This one started out a little slow in the beginning but once it hit stride–I was IN! Continue Reading
