#BoutOfBooks Goals: What I am reading next week! (Thriller Week)

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

I love #BoutOfBooks!  It is one of my favorite read-a-thons because you can pick and choose what your bookish goals are for a solid week.  You can choose to socialize more about books, read more books, or a do a combo of both.

I have been under the weather for a week and my reading has suffered immensely.  I have listened to quite a few books but my ability to concentrate on the written word has been minimal at best.  I am hoping that by Monday I am ready to tackle some of the books that have been sitting on my shelf.  I also have a major work project next week that will require some intense “blocking out the world” so I will have my headphones on all day, every day for the week.  Basically all this rambling means that I will be concentrating on reading for this read-a-thon but I am hoping to do a few of the social activities also (we will just have to see how that plays out)!

So here are a few of the books that I have on my shelf I want to read(Mystery/Thriller Week): All of these books are either currently on my kindle or my shelf–no buying will be involved! (Operation TBR Overdrive)

Reading: (Goal 4 books)

Audiobook Choices (finish 2): (all of these were actually purchased previous to this year)

What are your goals?

This is the first blog I’ve ever seen the Her Royal Spyness mystery series mentioned on, ever! Those series are so fun but don’t seem that popular. Good luck reading this week! I hope you meet your goals. I’m trying to finish 3 books but would love to exceed that.

  4. Jayla says:

The Yard and Hide Me Among the Graves looks particularity interesting. I will probably add those my TBR list.

I picked up a copy of Ice Cold Grave the other day at the used bookstore. I haven’t read it yet, even though I really want to. I need to find a copy of Grave Sight ASAP! I hear the Harper Connelly books are really good! :-)

I hope you feel better soon!

    • Jayla says:

I meant I don’t want to read Ice Cold Grave until I have read Grave Sight and Grave Surprise. Just thought I should clarify, lol.

Audiobooks are a good idea. I’ve never listened to one before even though a free one came with my mp3; might have to give that a shot this week. Good luck getting through your TBR pile!

The Yard looks really good. I may have to read that. I love Rhys Bowen’s Molly Murphy series (I have read a couple of them) but I have not started Her Royal Spyness. Enjoy your books!

  23. aurian says:

Good luck at work Felicia, and I am glad you are feeling better again. None of your books are on my wishlist, but I do hope to read some more cozy mysteries, and some old ones which have been gathering dust on my shelves for over a year. But most important, I have to read some authors I am going to meet in Berlin on June 2/3!

  24. I’m sorry you’re feelin’ crappy! I just got over the flu myself and I couldn’t focus my eyes to read and I thought, “what a waste of laying around and doing nothing!!!!” I sure hope you feel a bit better and can concentrate at work. Emergen-C stat? Have a great read-a-thon!!! I’ll be following!!

    • The Flu is much worse than what I had—UGH! Hopefully it is gone and you are right such a waste of laying around time LOL I like my lazy time to be with a book and when I choose :)

My sinus infection is better — it is just that time of year :(

  25. Mary says:

Hum. Maybe I should sign up for this one! After all, I have jury duty next week and will need to occupy my time until they let me go (please let me go!). Some interesting-looking books on your TBR. Nice!

  26. Logan says:

I got the first Jefferson Bass book from the library and thought it was okay, but never kept going with the series. Have you read them all? Do they get better?

  27. You going to play “Thriller” when you read these? ;)

    Have a thrilling read! :D

  28. Ellie says:

Ooo quite a sinister week of reading! I’ll have to post my goals at the weekend as I’ll change my mind before next week. I’m just hoping not to suffer from the curse of the readathon!

  29. Jess says:

Ooh, a themed BoB! Very cool!! I don’t even know what I’ll be reading yet, lol. GO, Felicia!

  30. Heidi says:

Ahh feel better…I had strep a couple of weeks ago and it sucked big time. I feel for ya! This looks like a lot of fun. Lots of thrillers. Excited to see which ones wow you! Hugs, Do you want me to look through my soup recipes and shoot some to you?

  31. Great! Now I have that Thriller song stuck in my head! :P

    Good luck!

  32. blodeuedd says:

I hope you will feel better soon

  33. Jenny says:

  34. Kelsey says:

    Hope you feel better!
Good luck with your goals too :) Looks like you have some good ones there

  35. Amanda says:

Oh! This reminds me that we should plan a mystery/thriller event some time. Probably later this summer, though.

Good luck with your goals, and I hope that you’re at 100% next week! (or, you know, this week is good too)

  36. Amy says:
