Book Club Review: For the Frisco TX Barnes and Noble First Monday’s book club hosted by yours truly and sponsored by DFW Tea/Fresh Fiction. If you live in the DFW area we would love for you to join us!
What I personally thought: This was a great book with a spunky leading lady that I adored. While the story started out with a storyline that I wasn’t sure about, it quickly won me over. Connie Mason/Mia Marlowe did a great job of pulling me into the story, making me like the characters, and giving me quite a few smiles in-between all the action and romance. It was pretty much right up my historical reading alley.
What the book club gals thought: Overall this one was a hit with everyone who read it at book club. The overall consensus was that the leading lady stole the show. She was spunky, fun, and not a victim. Things only happened to her with the leading man when she allowed it. She had gumption, smarts, and was just wonderful all around. The story took a bit to get into in the beginning but once it started rolling it was an easy read.
Final Thought: This was a strong beginning to a new series! Definite thumbs up!
During her non-reading time you can find her hanging with her rescue furr children named after book characters: Lizzie a beautiful cattle dog mix (Pound Pup), Cinder a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Pound Pup), and Minerva a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Foster Fail). Gathering with friends and family, attending conventions, watching movies/tv shows, rooting for the 49rs, and crocheting.
