Book Blog Walkers: Weekly Check-in March 21 2014
Hey Book Blog Walkers! It is time for your weekly check-in! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of walking (or other exercise)? I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it! Even if it is one step at a time π
This week I am switching to my new format. Originally I was going to create a life blog but found I didn’t really have the voice for it.I read some great life blogs and I started out life blogging but that just isn’t where my head is at. However, I am going to bring one of the things I was going to do over there here: training posts! I dug out the fit bit (not the newer one as the dog ate the charger) but old reliable (the older one). As I have decided to start from scratch my goal was simply average 5000 steps for 6 days (Sunday is always a day of rest/charge for the fitbit/giving myself a breather).Β This week I managed to average those steps and my total was: 30993 (so I was 993 steps over) π I will be doing the 5000 steps till April when I will up it to 6000! I also did yard work this week so I got an arm workout done. Of course, I was grumbling the whole time about borrowing my friend’s husbands to do the yard work.LOL
Also we have had some new people join! I think this is awesome. Actually it is beyond awesome because this group inspires me to do better every day.
I wanted to clarify something: even though the title is #bookblogwalkers any exercise counts! In other words, shake your booty, zumba hard, run, bike, swim, dance, be sporty! This is about moving and feeling better! Also have fun!

The thing about exercise…. if you don’t keep it dynamic, it stops working as much. So changing your format is both invigorating as well as a mental reboot. Great job!
I had a good week last week, except the trip to Trader Joes led to lots of junk food and sweets. But I wrote it ALL down. I’ve had success at walking longer each day and am excited to get outside! Thanks so much for your support!
You did great this week!! And it’s good you made a change to something that will work best for you! Thank you again for starting this challenge – it is really motivating me to stay active! Have a great week!
I forgot yesterday was check in day so did it instead today π
My puppies and I need this in our lives! We’re in!!
After reading your post last week I decided to move my butt. I went twice to the gym this week. After almost 3 years of inactivity I’m taking it easy, at least the first couple of weeks. I’m planning to slowly start to increase weights and endurance.
Thank you!
Love this group – it definitely is motivating knowing our group is there to hold us accountable each week! And I just love my fitbit – I try very hard to get my 10,000 steps in every day – even if it’s just walking in place while catching up on my shows!
Sounds great. Do you count the whole day, or just the ‘exercise’ time? I agree knowing this group is exercising is just so motivating, I would have excused myself out of it if not for this group. Thanks!
I’m finally back on track this week – after about a month off and on! Love the new format you have – good luck with the steps! I need to get back on twitter too, this group is so motivating!
I liked this new format of yours. And you’re doing so good for this challenge. Keep on walking!!
