Book Blog Walkers: Weekly Check-in Feb 7 2014

Hey Book Blog Walkers! It is time for your weekly check-in! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of walking (or other exercise)? I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it! Even if it is one step at a time πŸ™‚

This week was interesting for me but a good tell that my “diet” wasn’t working. I have flipped it up and hope that gives me more energy. I did get my walking in but it wasn’t as energetic as I would have liked.

  • Fri: 30 min Dance Party
  • Sat: 2 miles with Leslie
  • Sun: off
  • Mon: 3 miles with Leslie
  • Tues: 2 miles with Leslie
  • Wed: 30 min with Leslie (walk/jog)
  • Thurs: 40 min walking w/watching a webinar

    • That is the great thing about NOLA–no matter how many times I have been (and ate, ate,ate) I have never gained. I love all the walking you get in πŸ™‚

  1. I am totally off track here. Seems like I’ve been running around like crazy lately and not getting home until late. Spend more time in the car than at home. At least I’m getting a lot of audio time!

  2. Another successful week and two big wins for me…

    First on Friday, I had my belt as tight as it could go and my pants were still loose! These are the only pants/size that has fit me for at least 9 months. That made me smile.

    Second – just now. I have been running around crazy all day and started to put on my PJs when I realized that I hadn’t gotten in my 10 minutes yet today. So I threw on my snow pants and coat and did a mile! I feel great!

    • That is FREAKING AWESOME! Doing the loose pants dance! That has to feel amazing πŸ™‚

      Also getting out after putting on the PJs–freaking awesome πŸ™‚

  3. I’ve been trying to up my protein each day – that seems to give me more energy. And I’ve been upping my water intake – fills me up plus keeps me hydrated!

    Love all the support we have in our group here…so motivating!!!

    • I am doing that now. I am also food optimizing–so many more veggies and fruits! It has helped tons this week!

      Plus I have been stressed so the walking is helping with that too.

  4. I was hoping to get in 5 days this week, but I still managed to hold steady at 4 which is good enough for me. I’ve walked a total of 24km since I started this challenge in mid-January. Awesome! Thanks for giving me the kick in the butt I needed!

  5. Yeah energy is crucial to exercise! You did well, its the one step at a time and do what you can that I like. I am not dieting, but I find a day’s teaching flattens me, so knowing the “book team” are in the wings helps!

  6. Diets can seriously kill the energy sometimes. Back in October when I started the diet I’m currently on (still – so I’m actually sticking with it, yay!) I was constantly tired and took lots of naps. I’m used to it now though and working out is not a problem.

    This week I stayed on schedule, though I really had to push myself over the weekend. I’m on week 3 for C25K and it’s getting tougher! Getting really excited for my 5k and march and looking for other ones to do now.

    • I started food optimizing this week and it appears to be working better with my energy. I am going to stick with it πŸ™‚ I through out some food that didn’t fit so I should be good to go!

      I will have to see about signing up for the 5k. I need to check the weekend but I think I can make it πŸ™‚
