Book Blog Walkers: Weekly Check-in

Hey Book Blog Walkers! It is time for your weekly check-in! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of walking (or other exercise)? I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it! Even if it is one step at a time 🙂

This week I want to thank Jen from That’s What I’m Talking About for hosting last month! It was extreamly helpful as I was finishing up my phase 1 of the big project at work!

Also this week I really got back to into my fitbit! I made my step goal (6000 steps) each day. I fell and busted my hiney on Wednesday but got the clear to lightly walk (nothing fast and no long periods) while I heal so I make myself get up every hour and stroll for 10 min. It takes longer to get the steps in but I am determined every day! I also rejoined Weight Watchers. I am looking forward to working that journey again. I was on vacation this week so I wasn’t hard/fast to the rules but I know this program works for me long term. This time I will be staying with it after I reach my goal to keep myself on track. However that is a little ways down the road as I have 31 pounds to lose!

How did y’all do this week?

  1. Welcome back but I hope you are feeling ok. It is good that you are taking it slow. I’ve never had that injury but I have had backpain which makes moving painful. So I hope you feel better soon. Good luck with Weight Watchers. I’ve done them in the past and I really learned a lot from them. Have a great week!

  2. Hope you’re feeling better. I fell on my tailbone earlier this summer – it’s such an awful injury! Take it easy and listen to your body – that’s my best advice and what worked for me.

Good luck with WW. My problem is I like to eat! I find that if I just manage my portions, I do ok…that and drink lots of water!

Hope you have a great weekend!!!

  3. Ouch! Definitely take it easy. I’ve tried WW off and on over the years and for some reason I can never stick with it. I don’t know why. Anyways…good luck! And take it easy.

  4. Sorry about your injury, but glad it wasn’t too bad. I am planning on keeping my average about the same around 9,000/day overall for the month. I didn’t quite hit that number in August, but I was close. I’m on vacation in DC next week (leave tomorrow), but I expect that to increase my step, not reduce. I’m really enjoying this whole #BookBlogWalkers program. It is a lot of fun and is keeping me motivated much more than if I was doing this on my own. So thanks to you and to Jen for hosting.

  5. Ouch, that would hurt and make walking difficult. While I am not watching weight, even though could do to lose a couple of kilos, I’ve just become very conscious of sugar content in food I didn’t realise has had sugar added to it.

  6. You busted your bumm?! Ouch! Glad it didn’t keep you down for long. I’ve been following your stats on Twitter and it looks like you’ve still been able to get a good number of steps in!

Good luck with WW. I made lifetime member many years ago – I think you and I even discussed it once. It’s a great program, and although I pulled away for several years now, I will probably return to again during my lifetime. I’m here to help cheer you on as well! You can do it!!

And finally – I had a lot of fun hosting and interacting more one-on-one with my follow book bloggers! I’m happy to help, anytime my friend!!

    • I hear you, it’s hard getting the steps in with an injury, so good on you!! I hurt my back and neck early in the week and have just tried to keep mobile without doing increasing the pain too much.
