I signed up for Bloggiesta again this year! It was very helpful last year in getting some major behind the scenes work done on my blog that I couldn’t pass up the chance again this year. Though I won’t be able to put in as many hours this year with work today, a birthday party tonight, a birthday party tomorrow night, and the Susan Elizabeth Phillips tea on Sunday.
I have only been able to work on it this morning but also putting some time in this afternoon!
However I do have a list:
- Back up blog (do some searching to see if there is an automatic backup tool somewhere):
- Backed it up but haven’t found an automatic back up tool for blogger :( I did find a tool that was created back in 2008 on CodePlex (something I use at work all the time for Sharepoint Code). I did a test backup and restore–it worked. However, there is no automatic setting: http://bloggerbackup.codeplex.com/releases/view/6978 . I used carbonite to backup my computer files online, as a person in IT this is a good time to remind you to backup your harddrives too!
- Clean up tags: Challenge Tags and Rating Tags (the 2 big ones):
- I cleaned up my meme tags which were one big mess! Challenge tags are about 1/2 done and Rating Tags are on my list!
- Clean up/decide on Sidebars:
- Really want a books I am looking forward to section: haven’t done this yet
- Pages: I need to decide how I am going to manage pages and make sure they are up to date:
- haven’t done this yet
- Header Graphic: I need to remove on of the buttons and add another. I am not graphically great so this might not get done.:
- Haven’t done this but going to send an email to my designer as Challenges is spelled wrong (didn’t notice) and I need Awards removed
- Challenge links: Find all the challenge check-in pages:
- still working on this
- Ratings Clarification:
- I kind of worked on this already but it needs some fine tuning
- Put reviews on Amazon and Barnes and Noble
- Starting Now
- Put the reviews from June last year till now on Amazon
If I can get this done in my limited time I will be very happy!

Great goals. I've got a load of To Dos for my blog. I'm trying to condense my sidebars w/o removing anything. I did find a way with using my photo hosting site. I've been using slide shows in my sidebar.Jackie @ Housewife Blues and Chihuahua Stories uses a scroll which I really want to use to shorten my Blog roll but not delete anyone and add more blogs. Anyhow, before I write a novel I just wanted to commend you for working hard on your blog. I need to do the same.Is this event over already or is it an all year thing?
I'm still too far behind from when I was sick to think about this (that and I had to visit the in-laws this weekend), however, I'm hoping to do something similar in February. Good luck!!

Wow! Looks like you have a year of work before you. #3, I used the widget from Goodreads. I added new categories, so now have a Currently Reading and a Up Next widget. I rather like it. I love that it automatically updates when I make changes at Goodreads. Perhaps it'll work for you.
