Yesterday everyone was listing the books they were looking forward to getting this Spring. I always get into a lot of DIY around the house this time of year (Finishing floors and painting over the next few months) so for me it is almost all audiobooks. I decided to list a few that I am dying to get my hands on this spring:

Because of Miss Bridgerton: The Bridgerton Series
Come on–it is Miss Bridgerton!
Written by: Narrated by: Length: 12 hrs
Sometimes you find love in the most unexpected of places….
This is not one of those times.
Everyone expects Billie Bridgerton to marry one of the Rokesby brothers. The two families have been neighbors for centuries, and as a child the tomboyish Billie ran wild with Edward and Andrew. Either one would make a perfect husband…someday.
Sometimes you fall in love with exactly the person you think you should….
There is only one Rokesby Billie absolutely cannot tolerate, and that is George. He may be the eldest and heir to the earldom, but he’s arrogant and annoying, and she’s absolutely certain he detests her. Which is perfectly convenient, as she can’t stand the sight of him, either.
But sometimes fate has a wicked sense of humor….
Because when Billie and George are quite literally thrown together, a whole new sort of sparks begins to fly. And when these lifelong adversaries finally kiss, they just might discover that the one person they can’t abide is the one person they can’t live without….

Jane Yellowrock has her hands full in the latest novel in the New York Times best-selling series that captures “the essence of urban fantasy” (SF Site).

Forest of Ruin: Age of Legends Trilogy
This is a “because of the author” pick. Fantasy is always either a total hit or miss for me. I am excited to see which this is! It will be a library book though because I have learned to try hit/miss at the library first!
Written by: Narrated by: Length: 10 hrs
Perfect for fans of Graceling and Game of Thrones, this is the breathtaking conclusion to the Age of Legends trilogy – from number-one New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong.
The empire rests on the edge of a knife, and sisters Ashyn and Moria are the handle and the blade. Desperate to outmaneuver the evil Alvar Kitsune, whose hold on the people grows stronger every day, Emperor Tatsu begs Moria to put aside past grievances and ally with Gavril – at least long enough to make an attempt on Alvar’s life. Meanwhile, reunited with her long-lost grandfather, Ashyn discovers that she is the key to a ritual that could reawaken an ancient dragon and turn the tide of the coming battle in their favor.
But with lies and betrayal lurking around every corner, Ashyn and Moria will have to decide once and for all where their allegiances lie. And it may not be where their hearts would lead them….
Louisa: The Extraordinary Life of Mrs. Adams
FACT: I love almost anything based on the life and times of early America. Our history is so violent , rich, and varied. This is one biography that I am counting down too!
Written by: Narrated by: Length: 16 hrs and 46 mins
Publisher: Penguin Audio
An intimate portrait of Louisa Catherine Adams, the wife of John Quincy Adams, who witnessed firsthand the greatest transformations of her time.
Born in London to an American father and a British mother on the eve of the Revolutionary War, Louisa Catherine Johnson was raised in circumstances very different from the New England upbringing of future president John Quincy Adams, whose life had been dedicated to public service from the earliest age. And yet John Quincy fell in love with her almost despite himself. Their often tempestuous but deeply close marriage lasted half a century.
They lived in Prussia, Massachusetts, Washington, Russia, and England, at royal courts, on farms, in cities, and in the White House. Louisa saw more of Europe and America than nearly any other woman of her time. But wherever she lived, she was always pressing her nose against the glass, not quite sure whether she was looking in or out. The other members of the Adams family could take their identity for granted – they were Adamses; they were Americans – but she had to invent her own. The story of Louisa Catherine Adams is one of a woman who forged a sense of self. As the country her husband led found its place in the world, she found a voice. That voice resonates still.
In this deeply felt biography, the talented journalist and historian Louisa Thomas finally gives Louisa Catherine Adams’ full extraordinary life its due. An intimate portrait of a remarkable woman, a complicated marriage, and a pivotal historical moment, Louisa Thomas’ biography is a masterful work from an elegant storyteller.
The Earl Takes All
Lorraine Heath and narrated by Helen and Rich—totally a pre-order on my part 🙂 The countdown is BRUTAL!
Written by: Narrated by: Length: 10 hrs and 30 mins
One summer night, Edward Alcott gives in to temptation and kisses Lady Julia Kenney in a dark garden. However, the passion she stirs within him is best left in the shadows as she weds his twin, the earl of Greyling. But when tragedy strikes, to honor the vow he makes to his dying brother, Edward must pretend to be Greyling until the countess delivers her babe.
After her husband returns from a two-month sojourn, Julia finds him changed. Bolder, more daring, and more wicked – even if he does limit their encounters to kisses. With each passing day, she falls more deeply in love.
For Edward the embers of desire sparked on that long-ago night are quickly rekindled. He yearns to be her husband in truth. But if she discovers his ruse, she will despise him – and English law prevents him from marrying his brother’s widow. Yet he must dare to risk everything and reveal his secrets if he is to truly take all.
Temptations of a Wallflower: The Wicked Quills of London
I loved the first book. I am listening to the 2nd book now and really liking it. The narration is outstanding in this series and my library totally orders these on audio. All wins and must listens!
Written by: Narrated by: Length: 9 hrs and 45 mins
Eva Leigh’s deliciously sexy Wicked Quills of London series continues as a lady’s secret career writing erotic fiction is jeopardized by real-life romance….
In society circles she’s known as the Watching Wallflower – shy, quiet, and certainly never scandalous. Yet beneath Lady Sarah Frampton’s demure façade hides the mind of The Lady of Dubious Quality, author of the most titillating erotic fiction the ton has ever seen. Sarah knows discovery would lead to her ruin, but marriage – to a vicar, no less – could help protect her from slander. An especially tempting option when the clergyman in question is the handsome, intriguing Jeremy Cleland.
Tasked with unmasking London’s most scandalous author by his powerful family, Jeremy has no idea that his beautiful, innocent bride is the very woman he seeks to destroy. His mission must remain a secret, even from the new wife who stirs his deepest longings. Yet when the truth comes to light, Sarah and Jeremy’s newfound love will be tested. Will Sarah’s secret identity tear them apart, or will the temptations of his wallflower wife prove too wicked to resist?
The Spender’s Guide to Debt-Free Living: How a Spending Fast Helped Me Get from Broke to Badass in Record Time
This is my goal this summer between my trips in the spring and fall to go on a spending fast. I follow her blog and really like her tips!
Written by: Narrated by: Length: 7 hrs
Popular blogger Anna Newell Jones of AndThenWeSaved.com delivers this self-help manifesto that reveals how a “spending fast” will help you get on the road to living debt free.
In 2009, young photographer Anna Newell Jones was rapidly suffocating under the weight of too much debt. An inveterate spender, she was in way over her head, to the tune of almost $24,000. She knew her debt was only going to get worse if she didn’t take action, but she didn’t know where to look for help. On a whim, Anna decided to go on a spending fast – an idea she heard in passing but knew little about. Creating her own method, she learned what worked and what didn’t and wrote about it on her blog, AndThenWeSaved.com. Amazingly, Anna was able to eliminate all $23,605.10 of her debt in only 15 months! She was interviewed in Forbes, Self, Glamour, Good Housekeeping, and the Chicago Tribune.
Anna’s journey inspired people and showed them that they too could change the way they dealt with their own money woes. The Spender’s Guide to Debt-Free Living takes listeners through a detailed step-by-step plan on how to do a spending fast and get out of debt, including:
- Creating a personalized Debt-Free Life Pledge.
- Understanding where your money is going when you’re in debt and where it will come from to pay it off.
- Learning why putting money into a savings account before (or while) paying off debt may not be the best idea for you.
- Finding additional income sources and generating side gigs.
- Reintegrating spending into your life once you’re out of debt so that you stay out of debt.
Filled with do-it-yourself ideas, insight from experts, and tons of motivational tips and real-life practical advice, The Spender’s Guide to Debt-Free Living proves that you don’t have to win the lottery or get a new job to change your life.
