Blogger Confession: Epic Fail at Operation TBR!
NOTE: Excuse this post as it is a little indulgent. I needed to put it on paper and out in public. It makes me far more likely to keep it honest and keep it real. Feel free to just move right a long—my feelings will not be hurt 🙂

It looks like a lot….but its probably close to what were all downloading, I know Ive gone a bit crazy with the free kindles….(lol) and my eBook purchases and my new library lend outs……oh and my audible account. I think writing it all down is a great idea.
Felicia, I am with you and I’m the freaking creator of this challenge! I should totally have more control over this than most. It is so hard. Whenever I see a bargain it’s like: “But one of these days I might not have any money for books and this one is so cheap and it sounds good too!” Lol. What we will do to justify our habits. 🙂
Let me be your cheerleader for this month! *\o/* You can do it!!
At least you tried 🙂 I can’t even say that, lol
I’ve tried it as well, after you first posted about this. And I read about 20 books a month, but well, I scoured a secondhand booksite last week, to treat myself for my birthday, and well, let’s just say, I will get through another three months. And of course, my pre-orders should be arriving weekly as well. Not counting my ebooks, that would drive me mad.
hahahaha, I know you are probably frustrated with yourself, but you just made me feel like a thousand times better about the fact that I am drowning in my TBR pile 🙂 I am such a sucker, mention the words book sale and I’m there, the amazon freebies get me every time, but I am going to try to organize my bookshelves this weekend! Happy reading, lots and lots of reading… Book Savvy Babe
Wow Felicia, that is a lot of books! Looking at your TBR list gives me a little bit of stress:) Love that you give yourself a budget for books each month, I really need to start doing that because I just got my credit card bill for the month and almost every purchase on there said “Amazon Kindle”. Well done me:)
hehe….I’m so glad that I’m not the only one that blows these types of challenges out of the water. I need to do this one again, but I don’t want to. *whiny voice here* especially since there are 8 books coming out next week that I want. O.O
I love you girl. Sometimes accountability can be a real bitch. It is so hard to pass up a good deal. I’m a glutton. I gobble them up. The only way to keep myself in check is not access any wifi hotspots or go to Half-Price Books Or stop following great bloggers with great recommends 😉
It’s just so hard! (heh–that’s what she said) I did really well this month and didn’t buy a ton of books and didn’t get much for review so my TBR (especially the ebooks) aren’t overwhelming me. But you read 40 books! That’s awesome!
Um… *shuffles feet* I won’t tell you how much I’ve spent on books, because I wanna live. 😉 But I’m actually caught up for the moment in tbr reviews and even read a few of my own books! WIN!
I still don’t think you did too badly…
*shakes head* bad bad bad *points finger* bad!
But then I..well I have not given away a single book and gotten a lot. But I am in denial
Yikes! I was totally admiring your dedication to cut back! I am doing great with the not buying books but the accepting books for review is killing me! I am desperately trying to push to clear out the TBR so I have to be so strict about not taking in books…aside from freebies, they don’t count, right! Wish me luck!
Your honest and at least you tried. I didn’t even get that far.
Well, at least you are honest enough to own it. I’m in complete denial. I can’t even bear to count up how many more books come in than go out. In my own defense, I will say that I’ve stuck within my book budget of $50/mo for two years now. However, the free books are my downfall. My kindle is groaning under their weight – I’m being selective and I still end up downloading way too many. It’s a sickness, but at least it’s not as destructive (or expensive) as the usual addictions.
