Book Blog Walkers: Weekly Check-in

Hey Book Blog Walkers! It is time for your weekly check-in! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of walking (or other exercise)? I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it! Even if it is one step at a time πŸ™‚

This week I started a BeachBody workout program called T-25. Don’t actually mention that on twitter or you will get a lot of “what are your goals” tweets from what I am going to guess are BeachBody Coaches. This is an intense workout that currently I modify the modifier LOL I have never done much more than walking for fitness but because of the arthritis problems I have had, the whole build muscle thing has come up. I HATE doing weights so my Dr suggested a full body workout. Now I am to modify around my flare-ups but not to skip! I have done 4 days of T-25 and here are my thoughts:

  • I have a love/hate relationship with the trainer. Oh, he is excellent but the program is HARD! So when he is being motivating, I really want to just say SHHHHHHHHHHHH! Which means he is doing his job and I’m working hard.
  • I am not an exercise lover so I do watch that clock as I am working out. I love when it gets to the 5 min to go mark.
  • I am pretty sure the slowest zombie could catch me anytime outside that 25 min where I am pushing through the pain! I am pretty much in pain from my feet to my head!
  • I am calling this week “pre-week” 1 since I didn’t take my stats last Saturday. On Saturday I will be measuring all the places and we will go from there.
  • I should have never stepped on the scale today because of this http://www.beachbody.com/beachbodyblog/fitness/ask-the-expert-why-do-you-gain-weight-when-you-start-working-out (makes sense but it SUCKS)
  • I have no idea how I am going to be able to pull off Day 5 which is the only double day then you have 2 rest days. I am pretty sure words that should not be said in polite company will come out of my mouth πŸ™‚ Good thing my dogs are used to it.
  • I am pretty sure the dogs hate that I am up and working out by 4:20 in the morning. Today (Thursday) was Abs and Cinder was so confused why mom was on the floor but not playing with her. I think it hurt it her feelings.

So that was my week!Β  I am still following the WW eating plan though I am going to try their simple start program. It is a little more constrictive but I think it is also easy to travel with since I have trips coming up!

How did y’all do this week?

I usually get up around 4:30 – 5:00 b/c that’s when my husband gets up for work. I find it’s a great time to head to the gym, when life isn’t crazy busy as it has been. I’m hoping to get back to that routine this week. Working out first thing in the morning means it’s done and over with – and I always feel much better the rest of the day!

Go you for trying the Beach Body workout – they look way too intense for me!

WOW!! That sounds so intense, Felicia! It’s been a long time since I’ve done any kind of workout like you mention. I really should – but I’m so happy with the walking/running right now, I’m going to keep up with that at least though the end of the year! Glad you are trying something new! Tweet at me anytime for support! *gentle hugs*

my coworkers sister is a beach body coach, and she’s always posting videos of herself working out, she gave me a starter kit for the 21 day program, and I died. literally collapsed to a pile on the floor and couldn’t move my muscles were so sore LOL ended up calling in to work the next day because I couldn’t lift my arm or bend my leg, and I was doing the modifier. ugh.
