Book Blog Walkers: Weekly Check-in Nov 14 2014

Hey Book Blog Walkers! It is time for your weekly check-in! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of walking (or other exercise)? I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it! Even if it is one step at a time 🙂

This week I started mixing it up a bit.  I started doing T-25 every other day and Yoga stretching every other day. Plus, I took the focus off getting steps (I started wearing my fitbit only while I was at work or vacation–places where I don’t do other exercises). The weight started coming off. 5lbs y’all and back under 200. Still have 27lbs to go till goal but so happy I got under that number. I have a thing with that number–I used to be 300 lbs and one thing I promised myself is that if I ever hit 200 again that I would work hard to get it off. I have never been lighter than 185 but 200 scares me from a personal point of view. It is my trigger number! So when I not only was gaining weight but unable to take it off (either through diet or exercise) it was highly frustrating for me. Part of it I know is from the girly surgery I had last year and my hormone changes but still frustrating. I know that I will have to change it up again when they settle on arthritis meds for me but right now I am going to take advantage of the balance that I found.

  1. Yea! I’m glad you’ve found something that is working for you. I was sick last week, but I still managed to get in my steps – walking but not jogging.

  2. Great job Felicia! I’ve added more yoga to my workouts. I’m hitting the big 5-0 next year and some of the more aggressive workouts bother my knees now lol I also did an hour of strength training the other day -ow! haha

  3. I love doing yoga and need to get back to it! My gym offers classes, but I also like doing it at home. I’ve gotten a lot of yoga flows from Pinterest and have our guest room set up as my yoga room!

  4. Great job on weight loss. I know how frustrating it can be to work hard and not loose weight. Keep up the good work. I should look at adding something besides just steps to my routine.

  5. Congrats on the weight loss, sounds like you’re doing great! I haven’t done yoga in so long, but I remember loving it. I need to mix things up a bit, my walks have gotten so easy and I love them, but I’d like to add a new challenge. Maybe yoga!
