Frannie Darling was once a child of London's roughest streets, surrounded by petty thieves, pickpockets, and worse. She can take care of herself and feels perfectly safe on her ownβsafe, that is, until he strides into her world, and once again it becomes a very dangerous place indeed.
To bed her but not wed her. That's what Sterling Mabry, the eighth Duke of Greystone, wants. But Frannie abhors arrogant aristocrats interested only in their own pleasure. First thought after finishing: Frannie Darling deserved love and I am so glad she finally found it in Surrender to the Devil!
Story Thoughts: I knew that Frannie’s story would be a tough read. Her back story is heartbreaking and her plight for the orphaned children is heart-string pulling. I adored her part of the story and was really happy when she found love. It took a bit for to get into the romance between Frannie and Sterling but that all clicked about half way through the story. This was another fantastic addition to this series.
Character Thoughts:Frannie was the “scoundrel” that I was most looking forward too! She is a fantastic leading lady and has a wonderful heart. Her back story is heartbreaking but she over came it all. Sterling took a bit too like. Seriously, his attitude and I did not quite mesh. Though as Frannie fell in love so did I! I love when characters make me love them even though I am opposed
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Susan Ericksen /Length: 8 hrs and 51 mins
I wasn’t sure if I would like switching over to one narrator but Susan did a fantastic job. She was FRANNIE! I don’t think anyone else would be as good at getting her emotion and cadence. It just worked!
Final Thoughts: I need to get the last in this series soon!

I think I’ve read something by this author before. I wonder if it was one of the earlier books in the series because I don’t recall this one. It sounds good though, especially Franny.
They are really good. They are emotionally tugging but just wonderful all around π
*deskface* this is a series I so want to read, love your review and added them all to my must read soon list!!
They are delightful. Originally published in 2008 and it took me forever to get to them!
Surrender to the Devil?? Eep!! I will however take her dress, that is pretty…:D
The covers are amazing for this series. I would take them all π
So do we meet Frannie in the books before this one, or do you learn her back story all in this book? I’m rooting for her already! I haven’t read any of this series though, are they all great or should just start with Frannie?
Frannie is in all 3 books (in fact she is the girl that the guy from the 1rst book thinks he wants to marry) π I would say read them in order even though they could all be read as stand-alones!
You are on a roll with this series! Glad to see it is still working for you!
Yep I knocked them out back to back π They were that darn good!
Have I read a book by her? Hm..no? I should though
This one is actually right up your alley. It would fit in with your Scoundrals π
I love scoundrel characters with a heart of gold. Those usually tend to be the most fun to seeing they get what they need. I’ll probably be the same as you and take time to get to like the guy, but as long as I root for them in the end, I’m good. π
You would love it! She rescues children—it is so stinking sweet π
