About the Book: Old habits die hard. And I plan on murdering someone before the night is through.
Killing used to be my regular gig, after all. Gin Blanco, aka the Spider, assassin-for-hire. And I was very good at it. Now, I’m ready to make the one hit that truly matters: Mab Monroe, the dangerous Fire elemental who murdered my family when I was thirteen.
Oh, I don’t think the mission will be easy, but turns out it’s a bit more problematic than expected. The bitch knows I’m coming for her. So now I’m up against the army of lethal bounty hunters she hired to track me down. She also put a price on my baby sister’s head. Keeping Bria safe is my first priority. Taking Mab out is a close second.
Good thing I’ve got my powerful Stone and Ice magic — and my irresistible lover Owen Grayson — to watch my back. This battle has been years in the making, and there’s a chance I won’t survive. But if I’m going down, then Mab’s coming with me…no matter what I have to do to make that happen.

First Thought when Finished:What an emotionally fulfilling entry into the series. The last few chapters were beyond my highest expectations.
“One by one, the others all nodded their heads again, as if we were talking about having a spring picnic instead of going up against the deadliest woman in Ashland and all of her men.”― Jennifer Estep, Spider’s Revenge
Story Talk: It was time for the big showdown between Gin and Mab! Spider’s Revenge did not disappoint in how it all came to head. The whole book was leading to a pivotal fight scene that just had to happen. I was emotionally drained once the story was done but that was totally in a good way. Spider’s Revenge was also full of Jennifer Estep’s signature humor, fantastic characterizations, and quick-tempo storytelling. If you are a fan of the series this story won’t let you down!
“I will destroy you. No matter how long it takes, no matter what it costs me. I won’t sleep, I won’t eat. I won’t do anything but plot your downfall. I will mow down your men like they’re weeds. I’ll kill so many of them so viciously, so brutally, so horribly that no one will dare to work for you. And sooner or later, I’ll get you too.”― Jennifer Estep, Spider’s Revenge
Character Talk: I love the characters in this series. Everyone: Gin, Owen, Finn, Bria, JoJo, Sophia, and thoughts of Fletcher were each done fantastically in Spider’s Revenge. I could wax on forever about these folks but instead I will say that if you haven’t, you should check out this series so you can experience them all on your own!
Audio Talk:
Narrated by Lauren Fortgang runs for 10 hrs and 51 min
I love these books in audio format. Lauren does a fantastic job with pacing, emotion, and accents. I love her way of doing Gin. I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing her voice. I will continue this series in audiobook as long as Lauren is doing the books!
“I’m the Spider, bitch—I’m the best there is.”― Jennifer Estep, Spider’s Revenge
Final Thought: Spider’s Revenge is right now my favorite in the series!

Oooh, I need to get back to this series. I’ve read the first book, and need to continue. 🙂 Thanks for the review.
Oh it gets better with each book. She does a habit to repeat some key information in each book but you get used to it 🙂
I soooo HEART this series!! Gin’s awesome. Owen’s awesome. The whole world is crazy. LOVE!
I love this series. I am about to start Book 6! 🙂
I am super excited to see this series has staying power & kickassness. I was able to pick up the first 5 cheap. They will be at the top of my TBR soon.
This series does get better and better. I am curious to see where it goes in Book 6 🙂
I might have to try one of these on audio. Loved this book and the showdown really had me on the edge of my seat!
LOVED OWEN! OWEN!!!! 😀
I think we should totally double date… you and Finn and me and Owen. They are real, right? RIGHT? ;D
I totally think we should double date! They are real (don’t tell me they are not LOL)
I swore I would start this series in 2013 and I have time for it scheduled not until summer but hey I promised to catch up on the TBR as well. I love Jennifer Estep and I cannot wait to dig into this series and I am happy to see that it continues to excel with a five star rating from you! Super excited to meet Gin and the gang!
I think you will like it. Gin is sassy and fun 🙂 I will warn you that the first book was my least favorite in the series. There is an annoying man in that one LOL
this is another one of those series i want to start, and i actually think i snagged book one for a song. So awesome that a book five..you are still loving it so much!
This is one of those series I didn’t expect to love and yet I do 🙂 The first book wasn’t my favorite but starting book 2—it rocks the casbah 🙂
Yet another series I have to start! Great review!
This one is worth the time!
Sounds fun. Great review. 🙂
It was totally fun!
YEAH!!!!! Wasn’t this book awesome! I thought the showdown with Mab was brilliantly done, and I just loved everything about this installment. I love Gin so much! I was a little worried with Mab gone the series would lose some of its focus, but in my opinion it doesn’t at all, and the next couple books are equally well done:)
YEAH! I am glad to hear that! I remember reading your review that you still enjoyed book 6 and I have been Owen-warned about Book 7 🙂 I did pick up Widow’s Web from Edelweiss but I will probably wait till audiobook. I kinda just love these in audio!
