From Goodreads: Ami isn’t much for trusting strangers. She has a hard time trusting anyone. But she’s no coward, and she’s no pushover in the protection department either. So when she comes across a mysterious warrior taking on eight deranged vampires on his own, she doesn’t hesitate to save his bacon. Of course, that was before she realized what one little rescue would get her into . . .
Marcus Grayden has been an immortal protector of humanity for eight hundred years, and at the moment he’s not interested in backup. From the moment Ami arrives in his life, he can’t deny that she’s strong, smart, and extremely skilled at watching his back. But she’s also destroying his protective solitude and stirring desires he can’t bear to awaken. After all, whatever her secrets — how can she defeat death itself?

First thought when finished: Oh MY! Even better than the first one but really OCTOBER for the next one 🙁
What I Loved: Just about everything! I would really like to wax poetically and make you realize just how fun this series is but I wouldn’t do it justice. The characters are mufti-faceted, rich, deep, and fun. I was never once bored while I listened to the story on audio (11 hours or so) and the story built on the last book. I admit I was a little skeptical about Ami and Marcus in the beginning (it’s a Seth thing) but I quickly grew to love them together. She was just right for the grouch and she melted his little hard heart! It was fantastic. Their give and take was very well done.
What I Liked: I loved the building up to Bastien’s story because I know it is coming next. I think his will be doozy!
Things that made me go huh?: Not a darn thing!
Audio Specific Thoughts: Kristen Potter did a pretty good job with the narration of the story and I really hope they stick with her for the audio. This was enjoyable to listen too!
Final Thoughts: I want Lissette, Seth, David, and Marcus to have books. Oh and can there be a spin-off of the humans please 🙂 Also can we explore Ami’s family too! I know that is a lot LOL Dianne Duvall might just have a fan girl for life LOL

Wow! Thank you for the wonderful review! I'm SO glad you're enjoying the series!
This series definitely does sound like fun, I don't think I've heard of it! I'm off to Goodreads to check it out…(and pretend like I don't hate that guy's shirt. haha.)
This is the series you were telling me about the other day right?!?!
Ami's story threw me for a fruit loop and then I decided I really liked it! 🙂 I also can't wait for Bastien's story!
I am definitely going to have to check out this series! smiles….
I am glad it was a good narrator, cos a bad one can just ruin the book. Been there, and it is a shame
Save is bacon?LOL I've got to find out what that's about. I've seen a lot of posts about this author since her first book came out and I've had the books on my wishlist for a long time. Looks like I might have to bump it up because I love it when books in a series only get better and keep you thoroughly entertained throughout!
