Together but unbound, they must learn what it means to love completely, in the latest novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Wild Wolf.

To cement the leadership of his North Carolina Shiftertown, Bowman O’Donnell agreed to a “mating of convenience.” Two powerful wolf shifters, he and Kenzie keep the pack in order and are adored by all. Bowman would do anything to protect Kenzie, for in each other’s arms they’ve found far more than friendship. But as strong as their attachment is, they still haven’t formed the elusive mate bond—the almost magical joining of true mates.

Now with a monster ravaging the countryside and threatening the Shiftertown community, some in the pack fear that a pair without a true mate bond isn’t strong enough to lead. Bowman and Kenzie will have to rely on their instinctive trust in one another to save their Shifters—and the ensuing battle will either destroy them or give them the chance to seize the love they’ve always craved.

First Thought when Finished: Mate Bond by Jennifer Ashley is now my favorite in the series. Would have never guessed that going in but WOW what a story!

Quick Thoughts: You know that moment when you could just say “NAILED IT” in a review and it would encompass all you feel? That is me with Mate Bond. It is no secret that I pretty much binged this series this year. Mate Bond was the cream of the crop! The fact that Jennifer could take Bowman and make him lovable to me was just amazing. She found the perfect female for him and their story just gelled. PLUS: all the overall storyline push forward! It was shifter heaven for me and I hate that I am caught up. Hold me NOW!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Cris Dukehart / Length: 10 hrs and 25 mins

This is the first one in the series that I have listened too. Chris did a pretty darn good job. I would have liked a little bit more “alpha” male sounding but otherwise pacing/emotions were nailed!

Final Thoughts:Why did I have to catch up!

  1. This book was pretty amazing right?!! I loved it too, and before I read it I wasn’t sure how I would like it, but whew did the author surprise me. Jennifer Ashley is one talented author no matter what genre she writes.

    • Right? Bowman up to that point was one of those characters that I had trouble even liking much less falling in love with but damn Ashley made me do it. I love her historicals. I need to read her other pen name books!

  2. I need to get back to this series. My library has book three on audio, but when I copied the CDs over I had issues with one of the disks. I need to request again to see if I can get a different copy and get that last CD to upload so I can keep moving forward. I’m glad that you are really enjoying the series. I liked the narration too.

    • This is true 🙂 Plus she is really good at not doing major cliffhangers. Enough to continue the series but not so much that you leave pissed LOL

  3. I loved the first book in this series and have to catch up to the rest. I can’t believe it’s already at #7 already. Glad to know this series is still going strong!

    • I got all of mine up to this one from the library (and binged them all in Jan/Feb). It is such a well-written nicely balanced series (dark/light). I will say the overall storyline is a bit all over the place but the individual ones rock!
