She thought her fiancé was the perfect man—until he turned out to be the perfect killer…

Still he tracks her to New Orleans and begins carving a bloody path to her door. But this time, Katherine refuses to run any farther. This time, she’ll do anything to stop the madman she once loved, even trust the sexy cop promising to keep her safe…

Detective Dane Black never lets his emotions interfere with his job, even as the Valentine Killer surfaces in New Orleans to stalk his prey. But when Dane agrees to protect the killer’s ex-fiancée, Katherine Cole, he can’t ignore the passion kindling between them. After a single unforgettable night binds them body and soul, Dane knows he won’t rest until Katherine is safe in his arms—and the Valentine Killer is dead.

Dark and intensely sexy, this romantic suspense novel from USA Today bestselling author Cynthia Eden is sure to leave readers breathless.

First Thought When Finished: Die for me was a wild ride that I totally could not put down once I started!

Story Thoughts: Die for Me had a ton of twists and turns. I was involved in the story from start to finish. It was like a really good episode of your favorite serial killer show. You think you know what is going to happen and then BAM there was a twist. The characters were perfect for the thriller/suspense aspect of the story.

Romance Thoughts: The romance was not really strong until about 3/4 of the way through. While that didn’t bug me, this is a romantic suspense so it should be noted. The characters were difficult to see in an insta-romance but in the end you were rooting for them. This is one story that I was glad there was an epilogue.

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated by Emily Beresford/Running Time 10 hrs and 56 mins

I am not sure exactly what about this audio didn’t fit for me but I only made it through about 2 hours before I switched over to the print version. I don’t think Emily is a bad narrator (she is normally quite good) but she just wasn’t a fit to this story.

Final Thought: I totally recommend Die for Me to any suspense/thriller reader who doesn’t mind a little romance in their stories.

  1. I love thrillers, so I’ll have to check this one out! Good to know to lay off on the audio though. Since you’re one of the ones who got me into audios in the first place, I trust your opinion completely on that! Lol.

Glad I got a chance to stop by, Felicia! Hope everything’s going well with you!

  2. I love a good twisty, turny suspense. Even though you had to leave the audio behind (which, I’m sure, happens sometimes), it’s good to hear it still kept you flipping through those pages.

  3. Glad you had the print to switch to. Love great thrillers that keep me guessing. I’m checking out the Cover Girls 😉

  4. Oh I can’t wait till book club. I am loving this book. Doing both the audio and the ebook. I think the audio isn’t bothering me too much because I am just so into the story. I hated getting out of my car this morning when I got to work.

  5. Oooo love the sound of this one Felicia! I adore books where I’m convinced I know what’s going to happen and then it turns out I couldn’t be more wrong if I tried. So much fun:) Is the romance a slow burn, or is more it’s just not there and then BOOM insta love?

I’m glad you were able to enjoy the book despite the audio being a dud. I’ve only had to switch to print once when reading a book called “Out”. It wasn’t making any sense and then I realized an impt chapter of the book was completely missing from the audio! I usually don’t have both versions on hand but thankfully that time I did.

This actually sounds good. I love crime dramas. The fact that it takes place in NOLA is a big plus for me. I totally get what you mean about the narrator not fitting with the story.
