Ryder Duncan keeps his secrets. With a twisted scientist starving him in a 10 X 12 cell, it's not easy to conceal the abilities that set him apart from other vampires, or his plans for escape. But survival - and revenge - are worth waiting for. Until the so-called doctor tempts his appetites with something special: a woman, with a soft Southern accent and a scent like flowers. Sabine.

Sabine Acadia didn't volunteer to be dinner. She was kidnapped and tossed into the cage of a monster. A monster with fierce green eyes, a body that speaks of ruthless power--but a touch gentle as a caress. Ryder knows things about her, secrets Sabine needs to learn fast. Because while they might soon escape this prison, she's fighting an urge to set all her desires free...

First Thought when Finished: I knew Ryder would do it for me and he did in Once Bitten, Twice Burned by Cynthia Eden!

Overall Thoughts: Oh boy! Ryder was as hawt as I thought! I don’t normally go for the vampires in a mixed paranormal world but with Ryder I will make an exception. Also, his chemistry with Sabine? NOM NOM! That being said, the world didn’t move forward a whole lot in book 2 because it was parallel for part of it. I did like the extra information and can’t wait to get my hands on Book 3. Have I mentioned I really like this world!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Jillian Macie / Length: 12 hrs and 27 mins

I enjoyed this just as much with the narration added. I am so glad these finally came to audio! Jillian has solidly landed on my narrators I can count on list!

  1. You keep reading Eden and I remember that I loved her so much in early PNR days. I did dl’d a few of her books so hopefully I can get to them soon.

  2. It feels like it has been awhile since I immersed myself into a new Paranormal Romance series. I have been reading a lot of thrillers lately, and I need a break. I will put this on my list.
