Hi and welcome to my little corner in the blog world. While I can’t be at BEA in New York this year and I am trying so very hard not to be overly jealous of those that can; I am very excited to be part of the Armchair BEA again this year! Last year was so very much fun :)
So who am I and why do I blog?
Howdy, cause my Granny taught me to be polite even in virtual worlds, and welcome to Geeky Bloggers Book Blog!
Yes, I am that Texas Gal that says things like y’all, fixin’, and howdy. Mostly, I am just your average 39yr old single gal that loves books, crochet, movies/tv, walking, and wine! Secret: I am really looking forward to turning 40 at the end of the year! Strange but true fact, I think with age comes wisdom and each year teaches us something. My favorite book genres to read are: Romance (All Types though paranormal and historical are my favorites), Mysteries/Thrillers (lean towards the forensic types but if written really well all of them appeal) , and the occasional Non-Fiction (more biographies than anything else). My favorite Movies are the pop-corn type: more action than story and hot men all sweaty. I am not likely to ever get invited to judge an independent film festival but line up a festival full of movies that include: ID4, A-Team, Underworld, Van Helsing, and The Losers and I am so there. On my TV you can find the usual: Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Criminal Minds, In Plain Site, Breakout Kings, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Camelot, Treme, The Borgias, and anything on Investigation Discovery channel. In my non-reading/movie/tv time you can find me playing WOW, hanging with my 110 pound Fur Child Tonks, sticking to my Weight Watchers plan, and hanging with friends and family. I am always up for a great glass of wine and like to try different kinds. My goal is to get a wine refrigerator this year, it will happen.
So why do I book blog? I have had a personal blog for 7 years(it is highly neglected) but decided 3 years ago to start a blog tracking how many books I read in a year. My first ever “review” (termed loosely because in the beginning this blog was just about tracking books so the reviews read something like this: I liked the book, I didn’t like the book) was Candy Girl by Diablo Cody. Really it took a few years to get where I was actually writing reviews that would actually make sense to other people. That being said, this blog actually has grown into something that I couldn’t have planned for if I tried: fun, interactive, and a great way to meet new friends. I think I am most appreciative of the friend aspect overall—gotta love something that brings new friends into your life. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences that I have ever had and hope to blog for many more years to come!
I am excited for this year’s Armchair BEA and is hoping everyone in NY is having a blast!

Good for you for sticking with your WW plan. That is NOT easy to do. Believe me, I know :( Maybe you can give me some tips on sticking with it as well as some great book recommentions. Glad to have found you via Armchair BEA!
Hey Felicia! I love these Armchair BEA posts! It's always so much fun getting to know more about our favorite bloggers! By the way, we can TOTALLY be TV/movie buddies! I love Underworld, Van Helsing (the end makes me cry every time), Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones, and Camelot too!
This is my first year participating. I so wish that I could have gone to BEA but I'm so glad there is something for the rest of us.
Not the only chick not doing this *cries with Ashley*Oh I like this post. I can say you have a real dog. I tease my friends who have these tiny things they call dogs. 110 lbs! Very nice. :)Great knowing more about you!
I'm totally the only chick not doing this! *tears*
I love Criminal Minds (Dr. Reid is my fav) and True Blood (Eric all the way!). It's nice to meet you :)Here is my intro post!
It is so much fun to read a post where someone starts out the convo with Howdy! I am a lifelong Southern Texan transplanted these last 10 years to Central Texas and have always said Hello so I guess my parents influence was a little different, either that or my Teachers in school had something to do with it! LOLFelicia you are a girl after my own heart, I love action flicks and what is better than watching things with Gorgeous Guys as we sit in the dark dreaming they are ours!Armchair BEA may be in my future but not quite yet, never will make it to NYC because it is too far and costs too much to take the trip anyway…However am really getting even more excited about the Boas and Tiaras in June, you better bring some pictures of Tonks to share with us!
Howdy-Do, Felicia! I was so late on the blogging scene that when I learn that there are actually people out there that had personal blogs for years before, it always surprises me. I still thing of it as a 'new' tread. Of course, being an old fashion Texan, computers baffled me for the longest time. LOLP.S. You are gorgeous! Next year, we could go to BEA together. :)
Adore you, Felicia!! ♥♥♥
I'm all for hot men! I told my hubby I wanted to see Thor for that reason, haha!I <3 Game of Thrones and TVD!Armchair BEA: About Us!
This is my first year participating. I'm so excited!
