About: For twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort.
Now he has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter’s defeat of You-Know-Who was Black’s downfall as well. And the Azkaban guards heard black muttering in his sleep, “He’s at Hogwarts…he’s at Hogwarts.”
Harry Potter isn’t safe, not even within the walls of the magical school, surrounded by his friends. Because on top of it all, there may well be a traitor in their midst.
What I Loved: What didn’t I love! This is one of my favorite books in the series 🙂 I love Lupin, Sirius, and how the kids are growing. This was fun if for no other reason that how the book ended—Harry finally had something to keep the Dursleys sort of in line over the summer holidays.
What I Liked: I really liked that there were lots of Hagrid moments in this book. He is one of my favorite side characters and I love how Dumbledore treats him.
Who I would recommend this too: Anyone–no seriously, you should read it!
Why I gave it a 5: Well written, fun, and did I mention Lupin and Sirius? Oh plus a magical map that any kid would have killed for in school.
