More Information:All Joy Randall wants is a little old-fashioned romance, but when she participates in a "Goddess evoking" ceremony with her friend, Roxy, Joy finds out her future true love is a man with the potential to put her immortal soul in danger. At first the ever-practical Joy is ready to dismiss her vision as a product of too much gin and too many vampire romances, but while traveling through the Czech Republic with Roxy, Joy begins to have some second thoughts about her mystery lover because she is suddenly plagued by visions of a lethally handsome stranger. Then, when she and Roxy attend a local GothFaire, Joy meets Raphael Griffin St. John, head of security, and she becomes even more bewildered because the dark and dangerous Raphael seems too close to her dreams for comfort.

First Thought when Finished: A Girl’s Guide to Vampires was a fun read and my favorite part was the friendship between Roxy and Joy!
Overall Thoughts: Fun! Fun! Fun! This is one of those reads that I had zero expectations going in and ended up really surprised how much I enjoyed the characters. I loved the friendship between Roxy and Joy and the chemistry between Raphael and Joy was hawt! I thought the story took awhile to get going but the second half really took off. I will check out more from this series. The epilogue was hilarious and perfect for Roxy’s voice.
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Karen White / Length: 13 hrs and 19 mins
I like Karen White’s narration. She is excellent at bringing to life fun, spunky leading ladies. She did a great job with Joy and Roxy!
Final Thoughts: Will have to work book 2 into my book budget!

I’m ashamed to say I’ve never heard of this author before. I’ve just finished reading Shelly Laurenston’s Pride series so a bit of humour sounds perfect π
I really need to start reading this series again. There are at least 10 gathering dust on my shelves… Glad you enjoy them Felicia.
I love reading about a good BFF relationship. The last book I read had a great one. π
I’ve read one book by Katie MacAlister and it was a lot of fun. I have a few friends who love her.
Yay!! I love fun reads π and it is awesome when it exceeds any expectations! Great review Felicia π
Interesting find! I’m curious about the setting too. I love that the friendship left such a strongly positive impact on you. For some reason I’m getting a Molly Harper vibe – am I even close?
This sounds like such fun and I like that the relationship between Roxy and Joy. I will add this, since humor is sometimes exactly what I am craving!
Sounds good to me π
The narrator, is the an author too?
Sometimes MacAlister works for me, sometimes not. However, this one does sound fun. This might be the series for me.
I am totally needing something hilarious. I picked up Molly Harper last night and so far so good. I will have to see if I can track down a copy of this!
I’m in the mood for something fun Felicia! The book I’m reading right now is dark and pretty darn gruesome, so I need something light next for sure:) Thanks for the recommendation!
This was super fun. I loved the BFF relationship and the setting was great. I have the next one on hold at the library π
This sounds cute. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Seems I haven’t gone into a book with no expectations in a long time.
It has been awhile for me too. I liked being able to do that. I think reading these older books are perfect for that π
Ooooh, I may have to start this series once I’m caught up on my Molly Harper books! This does sound like fun!
They were funny like that! I have heard that the rest are completely hilarious π
Katie’s stories are always quick and fun — there’s not a whole lot of thinking that has to go on when reading/listening to them, which is just what you need sometimes.
Exactly π π I really did have fun and will be picking up the others. Plus she did a shout out to the Carpathians and I love those books π
