Hi Yβall! It is November and I am bringing back #30DaysOfThanks for Year 3 aka #30DaysOfThanks2014. I had so much fun doing this last 2 years that I thought I would recycle the program again this year.
Book: Reaver by Larissa Ione
Oh how I loved Reaver π It was my first 5 of 2014! Here is my review
WARRIOR OF HEAVEN
Reaver is an angel with a past, a record, and a less-than-heavenly attitude. Powerful enough to fight alongside the fiercest battle angels-and crazy enough to risk his wings on a one-way mission to hell-he’s agreed to go where no angel has ever gone before…to steal the most seductive and dangerous prize of Satan himself.
ANGEL OF HELL
Harvester is one of the Fallen, a once-heroic angel who sacrificed her wings to work as an undercover agent in hell. But now her cover has been blown, and she’s been doomed to an eternity of agonizing torture. Even if Reaver can snatch her away from Satan’s lair, even if they can fight their way out of the underworld’s darkest depths, there is one thing Harvester can never escape-her newfound thirst for an angel’s blood…
Blogger: Rabid Reads
What can I say about that gals (Carmel, Jessica, Lorna, Stacie) over at Rabid Reads:Β I have to admit that I don’t know Stacie or Lorna very well but if they are anything like their counterparts Carmel and Jessica I know I would love them dearly. Jessica–she makes me read fantasy! Seriously if it wasn’t for her outstanding reviews and prodding I would have never tried a few of the fantasy based books that I have. She knows just the ones that will appeal to a larger audience. Carmel is my go-to Shifter gal. While I have always loved Shifters, she finds the most amazing gems. I just bow down to her awesome shifter sniffer! They really are awesome all-around gals! Make sure to give them some love!
Narrator: Amy Landon (new to me this year)
Some of the books I have listened to narrated by her:
- Larissa Ione’s
- Sparrow Hill Road by
Some of the books on my wishlist:

This year Fantasy is More Fun & Because Reading are doing a Month of Giving Thanks giving you a chance to participate. You should take them up on the opportunity!
NOTE: This year I switched it up a bit for the first 12 days: I will highlight one book from 2014 that really stuck with me (each book scored a 4.75 or 5 from me), one narrator that landed on my must listen list, and one blogger that I am thankful for! For days 13 to 30 I will highlight either 2 bloggers and 1 narrator OR 2 narrators and 1 blogger. These are not in any particular order and by no means is 30 going to cover everyone that I love. In fact this year in both the narrator and blogger categories I had way over 30 (Yet with books I only had 12 “new to me this year” reads that ranked above a 4.75).Β Narrowing narrators/bloggers down broke my heart so I am changing the format a bit! Hopefully, I can squeeze in everyone I want too!

Again, love these posts as an introduction to great things!! I also loved Reaver! I am looking forward to more Demonica SOON!
I’ve been checking out reviews at Rabid Reads for a few months now – but I never realized there were so many reviewers there! Thanks for “introducing me” to all of them – I’ll be sure to check out each of their reviews now.
Ahh! Great peeps and a great book! I can’t say enough how much I enjoy visiting Carmel and her crew – Those gals have put a serious dent on my wallet this year (mostly because almost everything I want read is now on audio too) but I thank them too π
I also enjoyed the performance of Amy Landon, although I’d have to say I enjoyed her performance of Bound By Night more than Roaring Twenties.
I will keep that in mind if I get around to the Roaring 20s. It really is on my wishlist just because I can’t seem to get around to the physical book. I don’t have enough time for all the physical books I want to read. Thank god for audio!
They are the best π
They are!
Gosh darn it. I need that book. I have a copy of Sparrow Hill Road on audio so I am excited you approve of the narrator. I love visiting the gals over at Rabid Reads too!
It really was good! I went back to listen to a few a my favorite stories from Sparrow Hill after I found out she did the audio–they were fab!
I also loved Reaver, now I’m counting the days for Revenant.
RabidReads is one of my favorite blogs, I love Jessica’s reviews, they are very original and she always made me laugh. And yes!! Carmel is Shifter sniffer LMAO, you couldn’t have found a better nickname for her. I hope one day to meet them. π
I couldn’t resist–it just popped in my head and sounded so gosh darn appropriate π
Oooh, wow! Look at RR being featured two days in a row via thankful November. Thanks, Felicia! And, shifter snifferβLOVE IT!! I finally finished listening to Ione’s Demonica series earlier this year, and will be making my way to Lords of Deliverance very soon. I’m not sure about Amy Landon as a narrator though… I’ve been told that I should read Reaver.
She didn’t narrate Reaver (that was Helen Wick) but she did narrate the new vampire series. I loved her narration of that!
Also I expect you to embrace your new nickname: You will forever be Carmel the Shifter Sniffer!
i do love rabids Reads blog has well!!
They are fantastic π
I just picked them yesterday and totally agree – Rabid Reads is awesome. Like you, I don’t really know Stacie or Lorna well, but from their reviews I’m confident we could get along :p
Another book and narrator I haven’t made it to yet! I swear, sometimes I feel like I don’t read at all, there’s so many I still haven’t gotten to!
I am just now catching up on my blog roll for the last two days! I tell you I need more hours in the day π They are great and totally worthy of 2 days of love!
Oh don’t worry, I mean I haven’t read Kelley Armstrong, Kim Harrison, or many other biggies. Just not enough time in the day π
There seems to be lots of love going around for Rabid Reads..lol. Berle from Fantasy is More Fun had her on her blog yesterday for her thankful to find blogger. π
I like how you give samples to listen too. π
They are great gals!
I figure now that I have figured out soundcloud sort of–I can share LOL π
Shifter sniffer. LOL I think Jessica is going to RT so we’ll get to meet her. I got to meet Carmel at RT in 2014 and I miss her hard! She’s my favorite Canadian and a werewolf queen.
Love Amy London. I plan on listening to Sparrow Hill Road just because she’s the narrator.
YEAH! π I so want to meet Jessica! Why can’t it be May yet? (other than I am not ready and still need to save money LOL)
Oh, I LOVED Reaver, but I listened really disliked the narrator. The publisher really did this series a dis-justice by changing the narrator with each book (especially when they got Renee Raudman to do some of them, they should’ve held on tightly to her).
I love the girls at RabidReads (and Josh, back when he was reviewing too). All of them are constantly adding books to my TBR pile.
I just finished Bound by Night, which was my first book with narrator, Amy Landon. I enjoyed her.
Helen Wick was the narrator for Reaver right? I read this series so I haven’t listened to any of them. I have a very distinct idea of what the horseman sound like in my head LOL
π
Yea, that was who it was. I haven’t had her with any other book. I just remember really disliking her with this book. I almost quit listening and bought ebook. Don’t know who is doing Revenant, but I hope it is someone different.
