#30DaysOfThanks2014 Day 12: About That Story, Scarlet Chase, Robert Petkoff

Posted November 12, 2014 by Felicia S in Month of Thanks / 17 Comments

Hi Y’all! It is November and I am bringing back #30DaysOfThanks for Year 3 aka #30DaysOfThanks2014. . I had so much fun doing this last 2 years that I thought I would recycle the program again this year.

Blogger: About That Story

What can I say about Gretchen: She is a fairly new friend but I adore her tons. She is crazy organized! Writes amazing reviews! Makes me wish I had it half as together as she does (trust me folks I fake it well but she is the real deal Holy Field)! πŸ™‚Β  She reads a nice mix of romance genres so it is always delightful to see what she likes and doesn’t. Go give her some love!

New to me Narrator: Scarlet Chase

Books narrated by her that I have listened to:

  • Plum Orchid series by Dakota Cassidy – I was really impressed

Books on my wishlist:

  • Blacktop Cowboys by Lorelei James

Examples: Here is the link to Audible where you can listen to a few

Narrator: Robert Petkoff

Some of the books I have listened to by him:

  • Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole
  • Room by Emma Donaghue

Books on my Wishlist:

  • Hopalong Cassidy series by Louis L’Amour (I am a hug LL fan)
  • Derek Storm Series by Richard Castle
  • BoneMan’s Daughter by Ted Dekker

Examples :

This year Fantasy is More Fun & Because Reading are doing a Month of Giving Thanks giving you a chance to participate. You should take them up on the opportunity!

NOTE: This year I switched it up a bit for the first 12 days: I will highlight one book from 2014 that really stuck with me (each book scored a 4.75 or 5 from me), one narrator that landed on my must listen list, and one blogger that I am thankful for! For days 13 to 30 I will highlight either 2 bloggers and 1 narrator OR 2 narrators and 1 blogger. These are not in any particular order and by no means is 30 going to cover everyone that I love. In fact this year in both the narrator and blogger categories I had way over 30 (Yet with books I only had 12 “new to me this year” reads that ranked above a 4.75).Β  Narrowing narrators/bloggers down broke my heart so I am changing the format a bit! Hopefully, I can squeeze in everyone I want too!

  1. You know I’m adding this bad boy to my list!! And I’ll be listening ASAP. I recently listened to Those Who Wish Me Dead, thanks to Melanie’s recommendation and I loved it – Petkoff had a lot to do with it πŸ™‚ So I’m more than happy to find a new recommen.
I did the first book of The Blacktop cowboys and I couldn’t get into it, so maybe I need to give it another chance – Myabe I just wasn’t in the mood, I know a lot peeps love that series.
I will also be checking, About That Story πŸ™‚

    • I am totally going to pick it up since it is more in my wheelhouse than either of you. If you both loved it then I need to check it out definitely. He does have a wonderful voice πŸ™‚

I want to try The Blacktop Cowboys–with the Dakota Cassidy series she is so funny that I just grin listening to it πŸ™‚

    • You might not like her as much (You didn’t like the Accidentals right on audio? —she has that same kind of accenty voice). Give her a whirl though! She made me laugh and I liked her over the top Southern.

      Petkoff rocks!

      • I bought Corralled by L James then I was tricked by Tantor on the Plum Orchid series. They had M. Gavin listed as the narrator and I got all excited. LOL I’ll at least listen to those three audios. If I like her I’ll get the other Plum Orchid series when they are released on audio. If not I’ll read them.

  2. I LOVE Robert Petkoff. I highly recommend Those Who Wish Me Dead by Michael Koryta and narrated by Petkoff. I requested this audio for review from the publisher mostly on the fact that Petkoff was the narrator. The story also look interesting. I loved it. I think it would be right up your alley. I’ve already downloaded another from this pair to try soon.

  3. THANK YOU SO MUCH! You made my day. I haven’t been online much this week because of life craziness so this was a wonderful boost and I so appreciate your kind words. *hugs*
