30DaysOfThanksHi Y’all! It is November and I am bringing back #30DaysOfThanks for Year 3 aka #30DaysOfThanks2014. I had so much fun doing this last 2 years that I thought I would recycle the program again this year.

Book: Fate’s Edge by Ilona Andrews

Fate's Edge by Ilona Andrews

Fate’s Edge was so deliciously good that I pretty much finished it in one day!

Goodreads | Library Thing

Audrey Callahan left behind her life in the Edge, and she’s determined to stay on the straight and narrow. But when her brother gets into hot water, the former thief takes on one last heist and finds herself matching wits with a jack of all trades…

Kaldar Mar-a gambler, lawyer, thief, and spy-expects his latest assignment tracking down a stolen item to be a piece of cake, until Audrey shows up. But when the item falls into the hands of a lethal criminal, Kaldar realizes that in order to finish the job, he’s going to need Audrey’s help…

Blogger: Dewey’s 24 ReadAThon

What can I say about the ReadAThon: I know this seems like a strange pick for me but Dewey’s has really brought out the best in me as a blogger. Twice a year, I read for charity during this ReadAThon. It is 24 (or 48 if you count both) hours of intense reading and fun. All totaled for this year I donated $350 plus 25 books to various charities. It has just been a delightful way to give back and grow as a blogger, reader, person, and activist. I am so proud of the fact that more and more people are starting to read for their various charity organizations. Andi and the rest of the gals really do a superb job of putting this on!

Dewey 24 Hour ReadaThon

Narrator: Rosalyn Landor

Some of the books I have listened to by her:

  • The Brothers Sinster by Courtney Milan
  • The Devil Takes a Bride by Julia London
  • The Scoundrels by Sarah MacLean

Some of the books on my wishlist:

  • The Wallflowers by Lisa Kleypes
  • Any of the Mary Balogh
  • The Cynster novels by Stephanie Laurens

This year Fantasy is More Fun & Because Reading are doing a Month of Giving Thanks giving you a chance to participate. You should take them up on the opportunity!

NOTE: This year I switched it up a bit for the first 12 days: I will highlight one book from 2014 that really stuck with me (each book scored a 4.75 or 5 from me), one narrator that landed on my must listen list, and one blogger that I am thankful for! For days 13 to 30 I will highlight either 2 bloggers and 1 narrator OR 2 narrators and 1 blogger. These are not in any particular order and by no means is 30 going to cover everyone that I love. In fact this year in both the narrator and blogger categories I had way over 30 (Yet with books I only had 12 “new to me this year” reads that ranked above a 4.75).  Narrowing narrators/bloggers down broke my heart so I am changing the format a bit! Hopefully, I can squeeze in everyone I want too!

  1. I loved The Edge series. The boys were my favorite part. It would be really great if Ilona Andrews would write at least a novella for the boys. 🙂

I did the Dewey’s ReadAThon earlier this year, but not the most recent one. I hadn’t heard about it until you brought it up. I really enjoyed the one time I did it.

  2. I am currently listening to my first Andrews book, Burn for Me and loving it. I really want to do one of these read a thons sometime, but it won’t happen until my kids are older. Lame!

  3. I still haven’t done a read-a-thon but I love watching everyone else doing it lol

I need to read Fate’s Edge and the last book. I really like that series.
