30DaysOfThanks
Hi Y’all! It is November and I am bringing back #30DaysOfThanks for Year 3 aka #30DaysOfThanks2014. I had so much fun doing this last 2 years that I thought I would recycle the program again this year.

Book: Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop

Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop

Totally out of my normal wheelhouse and I LOVED IT! (You must read book 1 first) Review Here

Goodreads | Library Thing

After winning the trust of the terra indigene residing in the Lakeside Courtyard, Meg Corbyn has had trouble figuring out what it means to live among them. As a human, Meg should be barely tolerated prey, but her abilities as a cassandra sangue make her something more.

The appearance of two addictive drugs has sparked violence between the humans and the Others, resulting in the murders of both species in nearby cities. So when Meg has a dream about blood and black feathers in the snow, Simon Wolfgard—Lakeside’s shape-shifting leader—wonders whether their blood prophet dreamed of a past attack or of a future threat.

As the urge to speak prophecies strikes Meg more frequently, trouble finds its way inside the Courtyard. Now the Others and the handful of humans residing there must work together to stop the man bent on reclaiming their blood prophet—and stop the danger that threatens to destroy them all.

Blogger: The Gals at Hot Listens

What can I say about  MLSimmons & Lupdilup:  They freaking rock more than BBQ Sauce,  bottles of wine, and puppy kisses. I love all 3 of those things so hopefully you now understand how much these gals mean to me. They fan girl with me over narrators and books. We talk about everything from exercise to book boyfriends. Combined they are part of one of the best audiobook review sites on the web. Just trust me THEY ROCK! Click on their button to give them some love!

Hot Listens

Narrator: Luke Daniels

Some of the things I have listened to narrated by him:

  • The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne
  • Krewe of Hunters Series by Heather Graham
  • Brilliance by Mark Sakey

Some of his narrations on my wishlist:

  • Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts
  • Forged in Ash by Trish McCallan
  • Mr X by Peter Straub

Here are a few examples of his brilliant work:

This year Fantasy is More Fun & Because Reading are doing a Month of Giving Thanks giving you a chance to participate. You should take them up on the opportunity!

NOTE: This year I switched it up a bit for the first 12 days: I will highlight one book from 2014 that really stuck with me (each book scored a 4.75 or 5 from me), one narrator that landed on my must listen list, and one blogger that I am thankful for! For days 13 to 30 I will highlight either 2 bloggers and 1 narrator OR 2 narrators and 1 blogger. These are not in any particular order and by no means is 30 going to cover everyone that I love. In fact this year in both the narrator and blogger categories I had way over 30 (Yet with books I only had 12 “new to me this year” reads that ranked above a 4.75).  Narrowing narrators/bloggers down broke my heart so I am changing the format a bit! Hopefully, I can squeeze in everyone I want too!

  1. I’ve listened to couple of audios narrated by Luke Daniels and I like him.
I think The Other series is currently my favorite series. I finished Vision in Silver and it was Great!! So good I want to read it again. 🙂
I love Hot Listens, Melanie and Loupe are an amazing duo… I actually have to thank my love for audiobooks to Loupe, she’s the one that got me into audios. I also had the pleasure of meeting her in AADNOLA and let me tell you, she’s funny, she’s generous, she’s caring… she is amazing!

  2. Yey Luke Daniels! He is one of those narrators who I will look through on Audible to see if there are any other books he narrates that I’m even a little interested in, haha!

  3. Woohoo, Hot Listens! I love that they’re dedicated to promoting audiobooks. Love the title – Murder of Crows. Did you know, two crows hopping toward each other is an attempted murder? LOL.

    • I did not know that! Well that makes total sense because that scenario actually happens in the book. Makes it even more awesome now 🙂

  4. Ditto to the ladies at hot listens – love them both and can’t wait to meet them in the spring! I haven’t read Anne Bishop yet. I’ve checked it out of the library twice, only to return it unread. But I’ve heard such great things so I will try again! And, as we were talking about last night, I haven’t listened to any Luke Daniels yet 🙁 I know I’m missing out though!

    • We are going to have so much fun in May!!! You need to read the Written in Red series, it is much more in your wheelhouse than mine. Also totally need to listen to Luke Daniels. I will lend you a few LOL 🙂

  5. Oh gosh, I love everything on this post. The gals at Hot Listens are awesome just over there this morning. I love Anne Bishop’s series, it freaking rocks. And Luke Daniels is one of my all time fav narrators.

    • They are all rock stars! I am eagerly awaiting the 3rd in series. I heard that it was on Edelweiss but I have to listen to it on audio. I just have too LOL

  6. This is such a lovely feature! And I am a big fan of Luke Daniels and Hot Listens and am glad to see them featured here. I’ve been meaning to start Anne Bishop’s series and need to pick up the audio soon. Happy November 🙂

  7. Wahoo and woot all around. First I love this audio. This series began my audio addiction. Second the ladies at Hot Listens rock my face off. Loupe has guided me along my audio journey and graciously answered all of my noobie questions.

    • Loupe is one of the first I found that shared my audiobook addiction (my dad started me on audiobooks). It was nice to find someone who loved them as much as I did. I will always be grateful she was around for that 🙂

  8. Thank you Felicia!! I see we are in great company 🙂 I love both of your choices and I couldn’t be happier about being feature in their company.
I can’t wait to meet you in May! Looking forward to drooling about Audiobooks and narrators over a glass of wine 🙂
    Really..Thank you!

    • Oh Hot Listens are rock stars! Seriously they review some of the best romance in town 🙂 🙂

Also read the Anne Bishop series–you won’t be sorry!

  9. OMG. YES to MURDER OF CROWS. The third one’s on Edelweiss but I rarely get approved by Penguin there…I’ll have to beg for it closer to the release date. Or buy it.

  10. Thanks Felicia. I can’t wait until I get to meet everyone in person at RT. I’ve had such fun and met so many people since I started reviewing at Hot Listens. I’m so glad Loupe got me to join her team.

I haven’t tried Luke Daniels yet, but the Iron Druid series in on my to-do list. I LOVED Murder of Crows.

    • I can’t wait to meet you too! It is going to be fun 🙂 🙂 🙂

Oh I think you will like Luke. I actually first heard him do the Krewe of Hunters and then I heard the Iron Druid Chronicles. Where I think he shines though is mysteries! 🙂
