Hi Y’all! It is November and I am bringing back #30DaysOfThanks for Year 3 aka #30DaysOfThanks2014. I had so much fun doing this last 2 years that I thought I would recycle the program again this year.
Book: Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop
Totally out of my normal wheelhouse and I LOVED IT! (You must read book 1 first) Review Here
After winning the trust of the terra indigene residing in the Lakeside Courtyard, Meg Corbyn has had trouble figuring out what it means to live among them. As a human, Meg should be barely tolerated prey, but her abilities as a cassandra sangue make her something more.
The appearance of two addictive drugs has sparked violence between the humans and the Others, resulting in the murders of both species in nearby cities. So when Meg has a dream about blood and black feathers in the snow, Simon Wolfgard—Lakeside’s shape-shifting leader—wonders whether their blood prophet dreamed of a past attack or of a future threat.
As the urge to speak prophecies strikes Meg more frequently, trouble finds its way inside the Courtyard. Now the Others and the handful of humans residing there must work together to stop the man bent on reclaiming their blood prophet—and stop the danger that threatens to destroy them all.
Blogger: The Gals at Hot Listens
What can I say about MLSimmons & Lupdilup: They freaking rock more than BBQ Sauce, bottles of wine, and puppy kisses. I love all 3 of those things so hopefully you now understand how much these gals mean to me. They fan girl with me over narrators and books. We talk about everything from exercise to book boyfriends. Combined they are part of one of the best audiobook review sites on the web. Just trust me THEY ROCK! Click on their button to give them some love!
Narrator: Luke Daniels
Some of the things I have listened to narrated by him:
- The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne
- Krewe of Hunters Series by Heather Graham
- Brilliance by Mark Sakey
Some of his narrations on my wishlist:
- Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts
- Forged in Ash by Trish McCallan
- Mr X by Peter Straub
Here are a few examples of his brilliant work:
This year Fantasy is More Fun & Because Reading are doing a Month of Giving Thanks giving you a chance to participate. You should take them up on the opportunity!
NOTE: This year I switched it up a bit for the first 12 days: I will highlight one book from 2014 that really stuck with me (each book scored a 4.75 or 5 from me), one narrator that landed on my must listen list, and one blogger that I am thankful for! For days 13 to 30 I will highlight either 2 bloggers and 1 narrator OR 2 narrators and 1 blogger. These are not in any particular order and by no means is 30 going to cover everyone that I love. In fact this year in both the narrator and blogger categories I had way over 30 (Yet with books I only had 12 “new to me this year” reads that ranked above a 4.75). Narrowing narrators/bloggers down broke my heart so I am changing the format a bit! Hopefully, I can squeeze in everyone I want too!
During her non-reading time you can find her hanging with her rescue furr children named after book characters: Lizzie a beautiful cattle dog mix (Pound Pup), Cinder a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Pound Pup), and Minerva a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Foster Fail). Gathering with friends and family, attending conventions, watching movies/tv shows, rooting for the 49rs, and crocheting.
