Month of Thanks

Hi Y’all! It is November and I am bringing back the Month of Thanks. I had so much fun doing this last year that I thought I would recycle the program again this year.   Each day I will highlight one book from 2013 that really stuck with me and one blogger (and their awesomeness) that I am thankful for! These are not in any particular order and by no means is 30 going to cover everyone (r book) that I love.

The Intercept by Dick Wolf

Read for Review (Edelweiss)
Overall Rating: 4.75
Story Rating: 5.00
Character Rating: 4.50

First Thought When Finished: This was exactly the high-caliber storytelling that I was expecting from Dick Wolf. I can’t wait for another one!

Story Talk:

He was, for all intents and purposes, an intelligence officer inside the NYPD. -The Intercept by Dick Wolf
This quote really speaks to the cornerstone of this story! The fact that a NYPD police officer is tracking threats to NY every single day.

What I like best about The Caffeinated Book Reviewer: She always has time for everyone!  She is my personal blogging rock star!

What I *heart* about The Caffeinated Book Reviewer: Kimba is amazing at really getting me to see what she sees in a book.  That is actually a pretty rare thing.  I know when I pick up a book that she has read that I will know the tone and general essence of the story.  It means I pick up far too many books that she has recommended but I have never been steered wrong.  She has also gotten me to read outside my comfort zone! She is one of those people that can!

Why you should follow The Caffeinated Book Reviewer: She has a little bit for everyone and is always having really good giveaways.  If she isn’t on your blogroll, she should be!

  1. YEAH!!! I adore Kim too Felicia! I agree completely, she’s great at getting me to add books to my list I might not normally have found myself, and I could hug her for that:) She’s one of the blogs I try to hit every day because I just love finding new to me books. Plus, she leaves really thoughtful comments that always make me smile.

Love this feature Felicia, it’s so sweet of you to highlight these awesome bloggers!

  2. *wipes tears after reading post and comments* Ya all are fantastic, and make my world a better place. As for Intercept ..this rocked Felicia and was one of my favorite books in this genre. I loved it so much I bought it for my father, my brother, my father-in-law, my niece..LOL Did you know he has another coming out in January? The Execution (Jeremy Fisk, #2) Well, I don’t think I am anyone special just a book lover who loves to share, but thank you and your comments about my reviews..gad woman that was lovely.

  3. I want to second absolutely everything you said about Kimba! She’s one of my blogger idols. I mean, here I am struggling to answer comments days after they’ve been up and somehow she’s responded to me within minutes? And she’s always so helpful – I’ve sent her more than one email asking for advice and she’s gone out of her way to help me. Excellent choice!

  4. I couldn’t agree with you more, I love Kimba 🙂 She’s a prime example that if you hold the light don’t let anyone be on the dark. She’s generous with her knowledge and her time.
I never have read or listened to anything by Dick Wolfe, maybe it’s time to expend my horizon.

    • Have you ever watching Law & Order? He is the creator of all of those. This was (as far as I know) his first foray into writing a novel. I enjoyed it but then again I am a huge Law & Order fan. I have started the 2nd one and it is just as good 🙂

  5. I couldn’t agree with you more about Kimba. She is very thorough with her reviews, takes time to reply to every comment and has awesome giveaways. She’s one of my blogging idols 🙂
