2011 Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge — Sign Me Up!

2011 Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge

You guys. I have a problem. The problem is that it is the last week of December and I am physically incapable of letting a January roll around without signing up for at least four reading challenges I will probably half-finish. It’s a sickness. There is no cure.

So! I am officially signing up for the 2011 Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge, hosted by the lovely Book Vixen. The premise is delightfully simple: read more books in 2011 than you did in 2010. That’s it. That’s the whole challenge. I love a goal that doesn’t require a spreadsheet (although I will absolutely make a spreadsheet anyway, because I am who I am).

The Levels

The Book Vixen set up a bunch of levels depending on by how much you want to outdo your previous year:

These names are killing me. They’re so good.

My 2010 Numbers (Approximate)

I’m tracking roughly 130 books read this year, give or take a few I forgot to log because I’m a disaster. So if I’m being honest with myself I should probably aim for the middle tier and call it a day…

My Goal Level

…but obviously I’m signing up for Breaking a Sweat (11-15 more) because I have no chill, and somewhere deep down I genuinely believe 2011 will be the year I finally stop staying up until 1am clicking around on Goodreads instead of, you know, actually reading. (Spoiler: it will not be that year. But a girl can dream.)

The Plan

The plan is: more category romance, fewer 800-page fantasy bricks, and a renewed commitment to the “did not finish” pile. Life is too short.
