48 Hour Book Challenge — Update Post!
48 Hour Book Challenge — Halfway There!
Okay, I am officially elbow-deep in MotherReader’s 48 Hour Book Challenge and I have feelings about it. If you’ve never done this one before, the gist is simple: pick a 48-hour window over the weekend, read as much as humanly possible, blog about it, and try not to feel guilty about ignoring the laundry. (The laundry will keep. The TBR pile is louder.)
The Stack So Far
I started Friday night with a giant iced coffee and the best intentions. My plan was a YA contemporary, then something paranormal, then maybe a quick middle grade if my brain melted. So far I’ve finished two books and I’m about a third of the way into book three. Not my best pace ever, but my cat decided my lap was a non-negotiable napping zone for two hours, and who am I to argue with a fluffy tyrant?
Hours Logged
- Reading: ~9.5 hours
- Blogging/commenting: ~1 hour
- Snack breaks (a legitimate category, fight me): a respectable amount
I’m trying to bounce around the participant list and leave comments on at least a few other people’s update posts because honestly that’s half the fun of this challenge. If you’re hopping by from MotherReader’s master list — hi! Drop your link in the comments and I will absolutely come cheer you on.
What’s Next
After I post this update I’m grabbing a sandwich, refilling the iced coffee (priorities), and diving back into the paranormal romance I started this morning. The plan for the second half is one more YA, finishing the paranormal, and if I’m still upright by Sunday afternoon, a graphic novel as a treat.
How’s everyone else doing? Are you on pace? Did you also underestimate how much sleep is a real thing your body requires? Misery loves company in the comments. See you on the other side of the finish line!
